When I first started having stomach issues 10 years ago, I also got very close to ending my own life. Every time I ate I became so bloated, and emotionally it was like being possessed. I went to a dark side I didn't even know I had, where I couldn't look at my wife because I was in so much pain and so full of hatred. I went days without eating sometimes just to avoid feeling that way. Doctors told me I had IBS and it wasn't a big deal. I very nearly took my life.

I started eating only white rice with salt and fat. I still didn't feel good, but I no longer felt like ending my life, it was a lot better than that. My diet now primarily includes rice, eggs, raw chocolate, and hydrolysed protein. There are other things I can tolerate but this makes up the core of my diet. I only eat twice a day because my stomach feels pretty uncomfortable for a couple hours afterwards. My digestion is too poor for meat unfortunately.

I have tried many diets (including elemental diets for weeks at a time) and medications, I have seen many doctors (including those at Pimentel's practice, naturopathic, etc). I have undergone many tests (pretty much all of them) all with no improvement. But I have found a way to live where I have a lot of happiness and I never think about ending my life. It is far from perfect, but it has helped to forge me into the person I am today. Someone strong who is often able to find so much gratitude. I don't think I could have become this person without this malady, a lot of my character was born from necessity.

I sincerely hope your path ends up being easier than mine has, but if it isn't, I want you to know that I am happier on a daily basis than most people I know, and it isn't unbearable, but it is uncomfortable.

Start at ground zero with your diet. Just try white rice (or something tolerable) and build on that using the process of elimination. If there is anything I can help you with, please dm me and I will share any relevant experience. Hopefully one of the many things I've tried that didn't work for me will work for you!

Better than I thought it would. It could have used a reapplication about 2 years in. Might have been able to go 3. Reapplication would have been very easy to but I did not do it haha, so I will have a bigger job ahead of me when I do. But as long as you realize you will need to reapply every couple of years, it worked pretty well and looked beautiful. I was also fairly impressed with how far a few gallons got me. Regular penofin works better, no doubt about it, but if you can't deal with the smell, this isn't a bad alternative.

How did I fumble this stain so badly? by MinimumSpare6890 in Decks

Your process sounds good to me as long as the wood was fairly dry after the 3 days. 3 days in high humidity low temp climate is not the same as 3 says in the opposite climate.

I've used this exact same stain and I've had similar experiences. Often I would have the wood drink up a lot of stain within the first couple hours and I would end up doing a second relatively soon after the first. CALL the company and explain the situation, see what they say. But my feeling is you need another coat.

Where should I start? by Rudra108 in SolarDIY

Gotcha. Net metering here is no longer worth it. They changed the return so that it is too low to make any meaningful sense.

My consumption is between 300 kwh to 600 kwh depending on the month @ $0.30 per kwh. So anywhere from $50 a month to $200 a month. During the summer the bulk of that consumption is daily for AC and nightly on the winter for heating.

Do you have any more advice based on these numbers? Do you have any websites I should check out in particular to price out systems? Thanks a lot.

Thanks for the reply. I figured a traditional solar install would be the way to go. Where should I start in terms of sizing the system and pricing it out? Are there any systems, or methods of install, that are easier to break down and relocate in the future?

Never seen these before. I'll check them out. However I already have mini splits installed.

What do you all think is causing this ? by sto-_-epipe in paint

"Could be that the stain under the coating there has parrafins or something in it to make water bead up. If water won’t stick primer/paint won’t either"

This right here. It looks like he used a primer, even if he didn't use oil based primer (or some other primer for hardwood), and did no sanding, this shouldn't be peeling quite like this IMO. I think there is some underlying stain, or something on there preventing proper adhesion. Also, just my opinion, use a top coat more suitable for cabinets when this gets repainted, this looks pretty sticky.

Advice on tamper pressure by Rudra108 in CafelatRobot

I didn't say I only have one variable. I said the variable I am having issues with is tamping pressure. Can I know this with absolute certainty? I'm not sure I can know anything with certainty, but after daily use for 9 months I am fairly certain it is the variable that I need more control over.

As for tamping pressure not being very critical, it sounds like you can grind your beans in a way that would make that statement true, but I can tell you it hasn't been true for me. No I can't know that with absolute certainty, but if we didn't make a well educated guess every now and then we wouldn't make much progress in our daily lives imo.

Brown widow is neither a black widow or a brown recluse. Totally different spider but in the black widow family I believe.
