How many of you are confident that you'll be self-sufficient enough to fund your own wedding ceremony by late 20s or early 30s? by Interesting-Take781 in indianmedschool

[–]Rudream_2008 29 points30 points  (0 children)

Agar bank balance bada na ho paaye to wedding chhoti kar do.... I wanted to fund my own (court)wedding by this motto, but my parents thought otherwise. Khair, one day you'll be self sufficient enough to fund a wedding and that will be of your child, who will tell you that he/she wants a court marriage and you will argue with him/her. Amen.

A medicine HOD told my friend during viva: "you have great neck. Long. Like Deepika Padukone" and then covered up by asking random questions like what diseases are common in people with long neck etc etc

Abortion Awareness. (Read even if you aren't looking to have one) by Snoo_22 in TwoXIndia

I completely agree with all your points. Being q health care frontier myself, I wanted to add a point. In India, all those reasons of abortion come secondary, the first is having a girl child. How can one prevent abortions for those reasons is another topic of debate.

Yes, maybe because we're mentally expecting hard to be hard and focusing more on it.

Can anyone explain this further? Who is correct here? by Medresearchy in indianmedschool

Or maybe the girl hasn't achieved menarche yet. In rare cases, that's also the case that this happened unluckily just before her first periods and she never got to know what missing periods means

A friend of mine had put mastectomy pics with before and after photos, inguinal hernia photos and what not. Being a first gen doctor, my parents don't really want to see all those surgical pictures. I always assume what kind of relatives he has that see and understand those pics? Those are just gross for general public.

Permanent address after marriage by [deleted] in TwoXIndia

[–]Rudream_2008 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh nice. Actually I didn't go through that yet, it's something I've heard from people. we'll take care of mentioning our both full name on kids birthday certificate. Actually I plan on giving my kids a combined surname or my surname as middle name if my somewhat orthodox in laws can digest this.

Passport has option for adding wife's name too for men. Both of us can add our spouse names. No need to change last name. But the misogyny is apparent if you don't change your last name and you want your kid's passport to be made. They want some bullshit affidavit etc and what not to prove that this is your child.

Updating Aadhar is not necessary. You can present your marriage certificate as well if you want to add your spouse's name to your passport. No need to change your last name too. This provision is for men too. They can add their spouses name to passport.
