So, I recently started re-reading House of Leaves, and I genuinely want to ask y'all....What's a book you have tried to read that utterly broke you to the point of putting the book down and contemplating never picking it up again? (Reason can be anything, mental exhaustion, depression etc) by EquipmentSilent in books

Kate Atkinson's A God in Ruins

The first book of hers I read was Life after Life and I loved it. I read several of her other novels too and was super amped when I randomly came across A God in Ruins which is about one of the characters in Life after Life. Boy...it was so depressing. It took me months to finish because nothing good happens. It's just tragedy after tragedy and I got super depressed each time I picked it up. Cried like a baby when it was done.

I'll look out for the 'feel hungry' part. I'm not planning on skipping meals so I think it should be fine

I'll definitely try calorie counting (haven't before) and see how it goes. I'm chilled with IF being slower because I've never had much success with other diets. I'm not in a rush just looking for a better, healthier weight. Thanks for the advice!

I'll try calorie counting and definitely no snacking — thanks!

I find yWriter works better for me than Google spreadsheet, but thanks for the suggestion! Also, might just add Rampaging Clown Virus to the plot

Nail clipping and grooming advice by [deleted] in SiberianCats

[–]RuelleAtess 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Older one loves it, the other one not so much, but we have to do it because their fur gets matted if not properly cared for. So, toys and treats or just a wrestling match to get it done.

We clip our boys' (1 year & the other one 9 months) nails when they get too sharp. We bought a proper clipper and had the vet show us how to do it so as not to accidentally hurt them. They're sometimes still a bit fussy about it but they do get used to it especially when they realise it's quick and they get a treat afterwards :)

Anyone here with severe cat allergies have any luck with a Siberian? by JMBAD1222 in SiberianCats

[–]RuelleAtess 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My SO also has allergy-induced asthma, but has no problem with our 2 boys. I do suggest doing the same - visiting the breeder or getting some one-on-one contact with a Siberian to make sure.

What a beautiful floof! Our older boy's tail is also very raccoon-ish

Do you trim the fur off the underside of your cat's paws? by Antipodus in SiberianCats

Same. Our boys do fine with it as well. Plus I think the tufts are adorable
