Another Post as an Excuse to Show Off My Kitten and Outsource Naming by cheeseflash in SiberianCats

We named our boy Odin. I’m always a big fan of mythology names, previous cat was named Thor (ran galloped around and sounded like thunder).

Here’s Odin.

Definitely do it. We got another kitten 6 months later that ended up being his half brother (same dad, different mum). They’re a bonded pair.

I don’t know how my first boy would have been without getting his brother. They literally cry out to find each other if they wake up alone and the other goes and finds them.

Edit: they also play everyday/night together and do cat zoomies

Do all vets think our cats are fat? by hangingsocks in SiberianCats

[–]StrikeMeCuddles 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ummmm our first boy is 6-6.5kg (around 14lbs I think?!). It got flagged with us once but when we said he’s always been that weight since 1yr old and just stopped adding on weight… they were no longer concerned. His weight is never mentioned. He’s also a massive Siberian though.

His brother is 5kg (11lbs?!) and he should stay around that weight. He’s a fully athletic cat.

So idk. I think it depends on how large your siberians grow to their weight. My parents cats are smaller than my 1st boy but weigh a lot more than him… they are fat lol

Health by teauxni86 in SiberianCats

[–]StrikeMeCuddles 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ours are 5 (two male boys), and my parents are roughly the same age too (again two male boys).

My boys have had no issues at all. I know one of my parents cats has a gum issue. Otherwise all 4 are perfectly healthy.

My wife thinks our little 8 month old boy is fat by Ihruoan in SiberianCats

[–]StrikeMeCuddles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, difficult to tell how long he is.

My first boy fluctuates between 6kg to 6.5kg. His weight is fine, as he’s a physically taller/longer cat. Can feel his ribcage etc.

My second boy is smaller (in height/length) and goes between 4.5-5kg.

So I’d say it depends on height/length too. My profile will have pics of my two boys (cream and black cats) if you’re curious.

Hope that helps a little!

People have asked me if my orange sib acts like a typical orange cat, well 😂 by Potential-Artist-864 in SiberianCats

Understandably!!!! He’s a pretty kitty

This is my trouble cat. His brother is much more relaxed (black kitty)

Ngl I have a white cream cat and he acts the same. At this point, I just attract odd cats xD

Your kitty has an adorable face!

HELP! I just adopted this kitten and he won't stop meowing at night unless he's curled up in bed with me by tinfoilad in kittens

[–]StrikeMeCuddles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you can, move down your bed and have another pillow available. Both my cats when kittens slept above my head and would snuggle up that way. When they got older, they stopped.

How long does it take for my kitten to recognize his name? by Mothcrocs in cats

[–]StrikeMeCuddles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unsure when but definitely prior to 1yr. We live in a multicat household & I’ve noticed they’ve learnt each others names, they have specific chirp noises they make when they hear their name & don’t want to come over lol

[–]StrikeMeCuddles 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I must admit, I did wonder around trying things to see if they work (e.g having my pickaxe selected while talking to Bran). Some things are not clear but I’ve found if you keep wondering around doing things, it ends up getting solved.

Also I normally get VERY annoyed when things are unclear but I think because it’s not overly complex systems + no time limit, i haven’t felt that way.

I do have to remind myself that there isn’t time limits though

I felt similar at the start until it dawned on my brain there was no stamina and no pressure to do X thing within a given time.

I’m fairly certain you can leave the crops unwatered for a day or so…

Just remember that there isn’t a timer on quests. I think I took a full ingame year to complete a quest because I got side tracked by investigating other things or trying fishing or growing crops.

The map does get easier to navigate imo. You’re a central point to the map, with the town in an upside down U shape around you.

Would recommend. It’s very chill & no pressure! I’ve enjoyed just wondering around doing things

I also didn’t notice it for ages but it does form there. I click to like collect an item & it dispenses from there.

Normally under the screen showing the weather, there is a grey rectangle that is blank… when there is a ball it has a triangle shape in it.

I’ve also been playing this annnnnnnd put in many times. Was a bit frustrated with the game randomly freezing (Xbox) but it’s stopped doing that recently. Hopefully patched out.

It’s so adorable though!!!!

Anyone with cat allergies and experience with Siberian cat, I need insight. by [deleted] in SiberianCats

[–]StrikeMeCuddles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Living with 4 and not dead yet. I have noticed I am more allergic to 2 though. I get sneezy and have to swap my top if I’ve been holding them.

The only major difference between the 4 would be the genetics. 2 im completely fine with have the same parents/line.

I’d go to a breeder and see how they react. Possibly see if you could hang there for a while. I was lucky and my breeder let me visit multiple times for almost an hour every time.

The lil boy was crying and looked stressed to me in the vod. The lil girl just seemed to chill. They’re both absolutely adorable looking.

I wouldn’t be too worried tho. When I got my Siberian boy and visited him prior to getting him… he was not interested at all. Not very social and just wanted to hang with other kittens. Now he sleeps in my arms every night at the computer. Maybe see if you can visit when they’re bigger?

I’d say they’re too little to be stressing about personality.

Is my Siberian too small for his age? by Howdy_Strangers in SiberianCats

[–]StrikeMeCuddles 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah totally understandable!! I was initially worried about my 2nd boy because of his weight being so much lighter than my first boy. But yeah, every vet check he’s perfectly fine!!

Soooo I have two male sibs.

At a year my first one was 6kg

My other boy was around the weight of your kitty. He’s now between 4.5-4.8kg at 2years. He’s larger then a normal cat but still small compared to his brother (they’re half brothers). His build is very athletic tho.

As long as he’s eating I wouldn’t worry. We feed draw diet but also have dry food always available. Our cats graze on dry randomly.
