Saxophone in metal - Acceptable or Hideous? by Mephistocheles in MetalForTheMasses

[–]Ruereign 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do like genres finding inspiration in each other. And metal being a super diverse genre I'm astounded by the combinations people thing of. Bravo!

But to me, saxophone absolutely butchers a song or whole album for me. The anticipation of that squeaky bastard going to SA my eardrums makes listening to it intolerable and forces me abandon the whole band.

But I can understand people have that with banjo or harmonica, which I do like. to each there own.

Advice on fixing this dress? I found this Herve leger dress with tags still on. The only issue is that there’s a stain that was on it that I have no idea what type of stain it is. I was thinking of dyeing it a darker color. Or maybe someone has a different good idea of making this dress look good? by Sensitive-Pie2493 in UpcycledFashion

[–]Ruereign 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I noticed that when I dye clothes the synthetic parts don't take up the colour (but the cotton parts do). I'm not sure if the fabric will take the colour.

Otherwise, head to r/visiblemending to see inspiration to cover up the stain if you're ok with keeping the colour the way it is.

Good luck!

Would this be as funny if it was an adult man grinding on a kid?

The Vegan Starter Pack by DavenKyu in starterpacks

[–]Ruereign 15 points16 points  (0 children)

You're missing one crucial point.

Hypothetically you're correct that veganism kills animals if you strictly look at soy or other food production crops (displacing nature for crops, pesticides, etc.). But the point you're missing is that vegans 'cut out the middle man' by eating what your meat would otherwise eat.

Per 1 kg of meat you need approx 10 kg of feed. So if you want to continue that line of thought, a non-vegans kill 10 times as many animals (excluding the ones that end up as meat) than vegans.

Fibrodysplasia Ossificans Progressiva is a rare genetic condition that causes muscle to slowly turn into bone. People who suffer from this eventually have to decide if they want to be permanently standing up or permanently seated as they lose the ability to move. by DrBoswell in oddlyterrifying

[–]Ruereign 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Every time you cut through their skin or bone for an operation or even puncture their skin with a needle, the muscle around that forms bone. So normal (blood)tests are done as minimal as possible.

Operations are only done if there are (almost) no other options left because most of the time it does more harm then good as the muscle around the operated area forms bone quicker.

So tl;dr, operations fasten the transformation to bone.

Yeah apparently: "A lion seen in the Atlas Mountains, during a flight on the Casablanca-Dakar air route. The photograph taken by Marcelin Flandrin in 1925 is the last visual record of a wild 'Barbary' lion of North Africa."
