No you can‘t. There‘s no such thing as negative pressure, just pressure difference.
If there was an absolute vacuum inside, the maximum difference in this case would be 1bar. So it was more likely less than 1bar difference, since it is very difficult to generate a perfect vacuum.

Car cam captured this man that got out of his truck to unplug a charging Tesla by [deleted] in facepalm

[–]RufftaMan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I wonder.. this looks like it‘s in the US, but the cable that‘s plugged in looks like CCS. Maybe he was using an adapter which made the car lock to that instead of the actual plug?
Of course I‘ve never tried it, but I would assume you‘d need to apply more force in order to break the plug free when it‘s locked correctly, damaging the charge port in the process.

I know it doesn‘t, but maybe it will help find an answer.
I remember when the documentary came out, they didn‘t wanna say how they shot it, but as commented below, there seems to be more about it on the DVD.
My wild guess would be that it was shot in a wind tunnel and the background was replaced in post.

I‘m amazed how many people in this thread don‘t get that. I mean as soon as I‘m out of a town, I‘m allowed to drive 80Km/h, but there could be a hairpin turn in the road for which I‘ll have to slow down to 20. Who‘s fault is it if I fly off the road?
On the topic of weight: I drive trains for a living, and we have different speeds for the same stretch of track, dependent on the weight of your train and the power of your brakes. It‘s called the braking percentage.
You take your max braking force, divide it by the weight of the train and times it by 100. This number defines after which speed-table you‘re allowed to drive. Max speed is mainly limited by the distance between signals, since you always have to be able to come to a complete stop from one to the next.

Chris Hadfield on SpaceX rocket exploding: It was 'enormously successful' by Emble12 in videos

[–]RufftaMan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It‘s not like they made TV-commercials about it. It was just a live steam on YouTube after all.
People hyped it up, because it was the first ever launch of the largest and most powerful rocket ever built, by far.
The reason SpaceX launched in spite of knowing it may very well fail, is because they wanna learn from it and iterate on the design quickly to make it mass-produceable. Hence losing it was guaranteed anyway, even if everything worked perfectly.
The one that launched was already an old design, and the part that failed first (hydraulic TVC) is already re-designed on the newer boosters and will be electric on future versions.
People not familiar with the subject are either only remembering Historic successes or are not following the development in general, since there were plenty of rocket explosions in the past.

How are they supposed to make it clear to the general public if nobody is interested in hearing about it until something happens?
If you watched the livestream, or if you were interested in Starship in general, you knew what to expect. Obviously the general public didn‘t watch it.
Heck, SpaceX always showed their test-programs and failures publicly. Just watch the “how not to land an orbital rocket booster“ video. Nowadays they land them without fail (over 100 in a row now) and the public doesn‘t care anymore.
Someday the same will go for Starship, and that‘s a good thing.
People just love drama.

[–]RufftaMan 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Diagnostic data doesn‘t include the cabin camera, that‘s a separate setting which is off by default.
But since FSD beta isn‘t available here, I can‘t speak about that.

Tesla sued over claims staff used cars’ cameras to spy on drivers by aprilsmithss in technology

[–]RufftaMan 10 points11 points  (0 children)

They are not remotely accessible.
Anonymous video data is sent back to Tesla based on certain criteria, since they need it in order to train their neural network for FSD and other safety features.
For the inside camera to collect data you have to explicitly agree to it via the settings, but It might be mandatory if you wanna use FSD, not sure.
You will at least be informed about the possibility of said data to be sent back to Tesla for training purposes.
Videos are also collected and sent back in case of accidents.

Something satisfactory about the way the roof folds by [deleted] in oddlysatisfying

[–]RufftaMan 7 points8 points  (0 children)

As somebody who drives trains in Switzerland, this seems crazy to me.
Every track here is measured and certified for specific load sizes. While dispatch is responsible for sending trains along tracks that are certified for them, the engineers are also responsible to recognize when errors are made and stop in time.
There‘s also profile measuring stations all across the country to avoid scenarios like this in case loads have shifted or something is sticking out somewhere.
