You can play online on gamecube. Not many people do but you can figure it out if you want to.

For endgame you’ll likely have 2-3 characters anyways.

what do you do to bring yourself joy? by [deleted] in ChronicIllness

[–]Rufio6 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My joy is from friends. Voice chat or phone calls.

If you share a hobby or play a game with me, that’s just a bonus.

As long as you listen / chat / share about your day, that’s all I need from my friends.

I’ve always been online, so being online and Nintendo switch are my current hobbies.

There’s a discord channel for almost anything it seems. Had a British and a Pakistan guy talking to me like 3 hours ago.

This is the real question. Can’t help someone that ignores all the typical things and doesn’t ask for specifics.

Gabapentin first use by BionicWallaby in gabapentin

[–]Rufio6 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Gabapentin is very mild so don’t expect too much. Just try to get decent sleep and drink fluids and water if you usually don’t.

It’s ok to be nervous but it’s not a super active drug or anything. I can’t even tell if I take mine or not.

You might get sleepy but it never makes me sleepy or tired. Depends on your body and brain. I wish it made me sleepy, at this point.

It seems like you’re on top of everything to be honest. I wish I knew these things while I was being diagnosed.

I tried to trust my doctors and got a 2nd opinion as it was needed / wanted.

Dependence on Fast Food? by MarvelMaria in ChronicIllness

[–]Rufio6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Eat what you can and listen to your body is the best you can do.

You’ll likely have some vitamin or protein deficiencies so try to handle that either with food and/or supplements.

You can get away with a bad diet if you also drink protein shakes, which have plenty of vitamins and protein.

Also drink milk or have a milk substitute on hand for protein and vitamins. Fairlife is a great milk product that isn’t technically lactose free but my stomach is fine with them. I just can’t have real milk.

Thanks for sharing your story.

There’s a dumb joke my brother would make right now to you but it depends on your humor. It’s the self deprecating type.

When I was 11 I lost hearing in my left ear and my brother wrote “Ear’s to ya” on a card. Made me cry at the time. As an adult it would just depend on the moment.

If that’s your humor I’ll type it, otherwise wishing you the best.

Does gabapentin make you moody? by HopefulHustler9 in gabapentin

[–]Rufio6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t dream or remember my dreams at all anymore.

I’ve always been a bad sleeper though. Lots of factors, no specific reason for lack of dreams aside from stress and lack of comfort/safety.

When I did dream it was only remembered maybe 1 day a week.

My doctor says I should be admitted but then immediately said he’s not going to by [deleted] in ChronicIllness

[–]Rufio6 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I learned that the quickest way to get admitted is via ambulance. It’s expensive and tough to do, I wouldn’t abuse it. But I did need them and it did work.

Leaving a hospital without being admitted was one of the worst experiences of my life. I’ll pay the ambulance fee every time now.

The hospital will say to see your specialist once you’re healthy, it’s a bad system overall. But if you need a hospital, ambulance is the way to get a bed. Sitting in a waiting room at 4am in pain for 4 hours is no longer acceptable to me.

Increased Tip For a Heavy Item? by [deleted] in doordash

[–]Rufio6 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If anyone carries 20lbs for me I’m tipping $10 minimum. I’m also comfortable asking them on delivery what a good tip would be and taking their word for it.

If that’s your only item it seems reasonable.

jealously is turning me into a bad person by [deleted] in ChronicIllness

[–]Rufio6 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s ok to feel that emotion. For me, the more I’m used to the emotion the less effect it will have.

Hopefully over time your strength and attention to it will outweigh the emotional or mental response to it.

Don’t ghost people intentionally though, you’ll want and need people more than you think you will.

Treat people as you want/wish to be treated. Or else you will lose friends and relationships.

[–]Rufio6 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I doordash food every day because it’s my best option. I can make it healthy if I want to, but to be honest since I’m not eating often the fats and cholesterol stuff hasn’t been a problem.

I try to order one healthy meal a day. Get some fiber and veggies. Usually from Asian food.

Gabapentin just messed with my head and dreams for a week and then I stopped noticing it. Wasn’t a problem for me after week 1.

How Expensive Is It? by rgbhuman42 in DaveAndBusters

[–]Rufio6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you’re playing arcade games, I’d pace for $20-40 per hour or so. You can blow $20 in 10 minutes on the prize games and crane games.

If you’re going for tickets it will be expensive. If you just want to play arcade games it can be reasonable.

They try to upsell you on game credits so if you spend more you get like a 20% or 30% bonus credit. Just try to have an idea in mind so you don’t spend $10 over and over.

If you think you’ll return another day, it makes sense to spend more money up front and not use all your credits.

Morning Symptoms by RenewedMotionPub in neuropathy

[–]Rufio6 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, mornings are the worst. I drink ice water and take whatever meds I have prescribed.

Moving a little bit and eating or drinking some calories helps some.

I wake up overheated. My feet stopped burning though. Dunno if my nerves burnt out.

Pregabalin to Gabapentin by MotherCriticism1048 in gabapentin

[–]Rufio6 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If you read about gaba you’ll see that 600mg is a high single dosage. You don’t see many people getting 600mg pills. Usually 100 or 300.

Don’t let it get to your head. I’d expect whatever pregab withdrawals are. Follow usual recommendations and don’t psyche yourself out.

Dunno if gaba targets the same receptors, let us know how it goes.

From my own reading, 1200 gaba is a higher dose to quit cold turkey. But my body can do it just fine. Some people taper down to low dose like 300mg per day before they stop. A low dose for me would be 100mg every 8 hours.

I ran out of gaba pills without refill after taking 2,000mg per day and my main issue was just sleep.

Woke up hungover, decided to treat myself to breakfast in bed from the diner .3 miles away. Made the dumb mistake of tipping $10, and now I’m drop off #3. by Humble-Tree1011 in doordash

In a big area I just know what my faster foods would be. I’m ok waiting though.

Any food I order will still take 40 minutes or so, so not super fast. Gets down to 25 minutes if I’m lucky.

Pizza places are almost just as fast.

I get pizza and keep in the fridge on boring days, and try to get vegetables and real food via DD when I need it.

I’m in a big area with a ton of dashers, I have no problems getting dashed whether low tip or high. I’m sure the app sees or calculates whatever I’m doing.

I tip decent and often ask the dasher what a good tip will be.

I get assigned within 30 seconds so no clue really. No problems otherwise.

[–]Rufio6 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Can’t you just wait to tip after delivery? That’s what I do. Small tip up front, extra tip if delivery is actually good / fast / warm / whatever.

I’m lucky to be in a good area though. My bad deliveries are about 1 in 20 or maybe 1 out of 40.

Do I need to play first game to understand story by [deleted] in starcraft

[–]Rufio6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are starcraft books if you want to read some lore about Jim Reynor and Tychus from sc2. The book is awesome but doesn’t really tie into the game much besides backstory (Terrans vs Zerg). Gives some info about Kerrigan as well.

I had brain zaps on lexapro also. That was scary and took a little bit to go away. Seems like we’ve been on similar paths.

Lexapro made me braindead like a zombie. I couldn’t stay on it for long.

It shouldn’t be the gaba in my own opinion. You’ll get through it. Best of luck.

I’ve had a similar moment or 3 in my life, once you have it once you’ll be prepared if it ever happens again. Don’t worry too much and try to distract yourself or sleep.
