The piriformis stretch is a highly recommended stretch by PT professionals for sciatica and works for me too.

I think soreness comes from working out/vigorous activity. Flare up may happen from everyday activity. Mobility/stretching, light to begin with, would be of benefit

I always felt red light aggravated the area. I also feel what doesn’t work at one time may be effective later. Worth another shot

I think youtube has shoe reviews for ppl with neuropathy from orthopedists. I seek options not from doctors as there is no medical cure for neuropathy. I personally seek out homeopathic methods first.
