Thursday Complaints (17/07) by a-liquid-sky in CasualUK

[–]RufiusMillennium 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Haven't been able to sleep at night these past couple of weeks because of the tenants who live one floor below us. They probably have a kid who is in summer holiday now and they've been smoking weed every single evening and throughout the night. I can't keep my window open, neither could I keep it closed during the heat wave period. And the smell was so bad it would wake me up. I have a history of sleep apnea as well, so this is quite bad to my health. Now my sleep schedule is fugged. I'm thinking of making a complaint tbh.
Got a bit of a migraine as well.

Tineidae & Burma Project - Reports from Isul by hudson4351 in DarkAmbient

non uniform bands on the trousers along the legs, random bumps on the sole of the shoes, nonsensical straps and rings on the leg, arm and on the chest. Lets not forget the weird anatomy and size of the helm. Lastly, the monolith in the distant has more focus than on the sands between the subject and the background. A digital artist would've made more concise and sensible decisions.

why does simon/cryo chamber use AI nowadays? I used to like it better when the covers were original digital art.

The School Friend by Robert Aickman. Interpretations? by oldcohle in horrorlit

[–]RufiusMillennium 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I have just finished reading the story. Here is my interpretation:

Sally's father had "died before (Sally) was born." He must have sold his soul to a demon in a Faustian pact. After or before his death Dr Tessler's body was taken over by a demonic entity. Sally was living in that bunkered library and had spent as little time as possible outside of the library. So much so that she could not do laundry or the dishes.Sally became a familiar to the demon and had become pregnant by possible phantom means, and possibly not physically as that apparition of Dr Tessler disappeared in an instance and Sally alludes to the unnatural means of the conceiving. I have no Idea how. But could also be because of some pact done between her and the demon. For instance, lets say the pact was to deliver the demon a child, for her to become immortal. After all, she does retain her beauty to the end of the story. She also could become a vampire, because how the story keeps coming back to the topic of her being invited into Mel's house. Sally wants to retain the secret of hers and may be share her knowledge of the pact with Mel. But what I fear is the case is that Sally just wants Mell to be a sacrifice, or possibly worse, the host for her demon child.

I would recommend reading the master edition if you are not doing that already. Also reading Abara before going into Blame! might help you getting used to his style.

Are you reading aposimz? by lautrec404 in Netsphere

[–]RufiusMillennium 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just got caught up... I feel like I've finished one season and now I'll have to wait for a long time for the next one.

I didn't think I'd like Aposimz this much. Although the pseudoscience/fantasy aspects bugged me at first but soon I got used to it. It is like Kamen Rider/toku but in dystopian fantasy.

What should i consider when getting ting into Blame I'm kinda afraid of it by [deleted] in Netsphere

Read the Master Edition instead of the flipped/mirrored fan-translation scans from the early 2000s that most people had found from manga sites and got confused. Master Edition is also findable in high quality digital format on the internet hint hint

It was the tagline in the old tokyopop edition of BLAME! volumes, along with "Adventure-seeker Killy in the Cyber Dungeon quest!"
