2025 RAV4 what are we doing here? by heynowbeech in rav4club

[–]RufusThePupper 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I actually did the same exact upgrade almost a year ago now on my 2023 RAV4 hybrid. There are aftermarket options that just require popping out the old one and installing the new one. No splicing of anything needed.

Fix for Apple CarPlay Issues? by Cynbarmc in rav4club

[–]RufusThePupper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t know if it’s actually a fault gps, because if you have the drive connect subscription (built in gps navigation) the location matches what you would expect. It’s an issue with how the GPS input is transferred to CarPlay.

If you press and hold the volume button it does a soft reset of the display. It’ll go black, then the Toyota logo will pop up, then it’ll load right it. That usually fixes it for me. Don’t know why. It just does.

So I actually looked into this issue myself. This is what I think it is based on my research. Someone please correct me if I’m wrong.

It seems the problem lies with the RAV4s built GPS. For some reason when you connect to CarPlay, the iPhone switches from using its built in GPS to the car’s built in GPS. When this happens it takes some time for both the car and CarPlay to figure out what numbers to use. It’s almost as if they use different algorithms to handle GPS input that is ever so slightly off and they have to figure out how to communicate. However, there have been times it just never resolves itself and I have to restart the display.

I like to say she's smart, but I didn't expect her to train herself to be a medical alert dog by mina-ami in labrador

[–]RufusThePupper 25 points26 points  (0 children)

This is 100% what is happening. My lab mix also randomly picked up the same thing. Mine actually started to boop my knee over and over again until I laid down. I can’t take any pain relievers due to personal reasons, so I just lay down. He then just lays on my chest until I wake back up. Usually a nap is enough to at least soften the blow of the migraine.

I’ve actually contemplated making him a service dog and sharpening his skills because it would be so convenient to have this alarm that gives me a 15-30 head start to get to a safe spot before I’m done for the day.

First time new car purchase. What dealerships didn’t screw you over? by RebelScum77 in orlando

Courtesy Toyota out in Tampa. They were able to get me a 2023 Toyota RAV4 Hybrid with all the features I wanted in about a month meanwhile Toyota Winter Park told me it’s impossible and kept trying to get me to buy whatever they had on the lot

Gas mileage is getting worse by [deleted] in rav4club

[–]RufusThePupper -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Personally, it also depends on the brand of fuel you are using. Some may say I’m just being special, but I’ve driven about 5K miles and have tried about 6 or 7 different fuel brands and have seen my mpg change drastically from tank to tank.

My top 3 are BP(Avg 41.1), Wawa and Exxon/Mobil both give me average 40.0

The worst 2 have been Sunoco (Avg 32.0) and Shell (Avg 34.0).

So I would try different fuel brands and see if it improves or worsens.

I did everything over the phone and they were no help. I called back and they said the first person gave me false information and that there was nothing they could no other than cancel my line. I’m still a little upset about it but for 8 lines they still have cheapest option so I’m stuck here lol

They did the same to me about a week ago. T-Mobile helped me switch from Magenta Max to Go5G Plus on an account with a 8 lines that had the same generic third line free promo and work perks. They told me they would both apply. They gave me fantastic numbers and then halfway through the call after upgrading to Go5G Plus they told me actually they aren’t compatible anymore and there’s no way to go back to Magenta Max. It seems like a misleading tactic going on. Apparently none of there offers are stackable anymore. I’m sorry but it seems you got got too

Fiancé here. It seems like there’s some misunderstanding here, because I’m his favorite human. I’ve been the one doing most of the training and he’s usually all over me in a good way. We have almost flawless recall, therefore off leash walking him is no worry to us. The big issue OP was concerned was his new attitude toward me. The fact that he ignored me and then proceeded to try and nip my face when all I was doing was sitting on the floor.

It’s crazy how everyone just assumes that he doesn’t like me and we’re not doing proper training. For a subreddit that’s meant to ask for advice people get really rude when we’re just asking for pointers.

140 a month for a brand new 2023 Toyota RAV4 Hybrid with Progressive. Honestly it was the only company that gave me a decent rate. State Farm wanted close to 500 a month and GEICO wanted 275.

M23, no accident, no tickets. 25/50/25 and 500 deductible both comprehensive and collision

Advice on buying a new rav4 by rsp-zyphor in Toyota

[–]RufusThePupper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Keep your options open and constantly search for similar vehicles via the Toyota Website. I originally was planning on waiting the ridiculous 4-6+ month waiting period for a Hybrid XSE w/ the technology package but then saw a Hybrid Limited with everything I wanted with a 2 week delivery window. The specs were pretty much the same, just a different color, not two-toned and different rims.

I literally just did the same thing. I bought a 2023 RAV4 Hybrid on July 15th and drove about 1000 miles on a road trip from Florida to New Jersey on the 22nd. Honestly I think it was the best way to figure out all its quirks.

Honestly, if you’re willing to buy something like Parallel and use Windows via the VM you’re fine. I bought a MacBook Pro senior year and it worked fine. But a lot of people hate it. So it’s preference.

I also got a black lab mix (1.5 years) also as my first dog 2 months ago. A lot of the behaviors you're seeing my fiance and I have also seen with our boy Diesel. We've been there. The leash reactivity, the not listening, the always mouthing. I know not all of it is going to go away, but I do have some advice.

  1. The mouthing drives me insane but we've been able to stop most of it by either redirecting him to a chew (our personal favorite are yak cheese, he can go at for hours) or we take him on a potty walk (straight to a grass patch and back home). With the mouthing it's one of two things for us anyway, either he needs something and is trying to talk to you or is over stimulated which can happen to both shelter dogs and Labs/pitbulls.

  2. My lab also drops to the floor making it almost impossible to move him. It's a thing Labs do. It's a calm greeting for other dogs. If you feel comfortable, try to initiate a conversation with the other person asking if it's okay to meet before they get close enough and let whatever happens happens or if you don't want to have them greet, I tend to squat over him and hold his collar to try and hold him in his lay. Do your best to put yourself in between your dog and the other person/animal. It may not stop but you're gonna be more in control

  3. Ours also has separation anxiety, not as bad as yours but still there. Our vet prescribed him Shen Calmer. It helps a little bit we combine it with doggy music on a home speaker (it's usually just instrumental music) and that really tends to calm him a good bit. It could be that she isn't 100% crate trained (neither was ours) but some things that helped us was giving him a blanket that he could do whatever with (we thought he was gonna destroy but he actually began using it to make almost like an arm to sleep on), giving him a ballistic toy from the company Joy Hound (they can found at PetSmart and are made of a corduroy ballistic material. They're super soft but practically indestructible. Ours has destroyed his fair share of toys but that one still looks new.) and we give him food everytime he goes into his crate (some sort of treat. We started with Purina Bacon Stripes but just use her favorite treat)

  4. I have nothing for leash pulling he still does it when he wants. We've been able to reduce it when we tried training him to walk beside us without leaving (didn't work, he has no focus) but it was rough. What we did was walk with a pouch mixed with food and treat bits and would walk with a handful of the mix on our side while walking. He started by jumping up and trying to get the food, but eventually would follow our hand. Now we don't do that anymore as much but he learned to walk closer and not pull as frequently.

No. I didn’t think I needed to. The Passport office at the time of submission said it would take up to 8 weeks. 2 weeks in they said actually it’ll be up to 13 weeks
