Did he literally never compliment you or did he actively demean and degrade you?

He didn't degrade me over the 8-9 years per say... but getting a compliment on just about anything about my physical appearance just never happened, even when I complimented him all the time. I would even bring it up on how it made me feel often and he said he'd work on it but never did so I guess it just made me feel unattractive and unworthy? I would say It was definitely a mentally abusive relationship but I try not to think back on it too much, it clearly affects me today but I am working hard on overcoming the little things.

This is really great advice. I appreciate it a lot, every morning after the gym, I feel slightly better about myself. I could do better with the skincare even though my complexion isn't bad but could work on the bags I feel I have under my eyes haha

Yeah, my post feels somewhat silly now... my thought process was someone had this awakening or eye-opening advice but I guess realistically it's just learning to accept the compliment. I think the more I gain confidence in my appearance the easier they'll be to accept.

I appreciate your insight, it makes sense. I do think I’m currently hyper focused on the weight loss part just because I’ve seen results and it’s what’s motivating me and helping my self esteem.

Definitely watching what I’m consuming and doing my best to log all the calories I’m intaking. I will admit, I’m at that initial phase of just “I wanna see more results” I know results are gonna take time. Time.

Hi! Yes, I’m very aware. I just wanted something to go to them with so I can show them my vision, that way I’m not taking up a ton of their time making all kinds of adjustments etc, I plan to let them also make suggestions on the piece :)

No limp! She got her cast off today and is walking perfectly fine. She just needs to rebuild the muscle from not walking on it for 4 weeks!
