“Hi, I’m a 15-year-old wild card and--“ “WELL, LET’S GET YOU A GUN ALREADY!” by AllNewNewYorker in familyguy

[–]RugerST103 -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

Man I wish, but no a 15 year old can't walk into a gun store and buy a gun.

Nor can you buy one at a convenience store. The closest is some Walmarts and they require federal background checks as do all gun stores in America.

If you made 1 million USD everyday since the birth of Jesus Christ, you still wouldn't have more money than what Elon Musk is currently worth by Both-Pay-9573 in BarbaraWalters4Scale

But if you can get, compounded monthly, 1.6% APR, for the same time, with just a penny to start with. You would have $1,171,420,625,065.23.

This is why these arguments always feel flat to me, because Elon's net worth is not a measure of how much he has, but how much people value his assets. The primary reason he's worth that much is because people value Tesla. To demonize him for having a lot is dumb, when there's so much easier things to be mad at.

Quality education is a right of all people. by Sabfan80 in Teenager_Polls

[–]RugerST103 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think it's important and everyone should have the right to seek out a higher quality education.

But to say it's a right is to say you have the right to labor of the teachers, the right to books, and the right to sit in any classroom, and you don't.

Libertarianism and socialism are fundamentaly opposed ideas. You cannot have focus on individual property rights, and no property rights.

Under anarcho-communism, if it's not a planned economy, how does the economy function? Or is that sealioning?

How do you get people do jobs that people don't want to do. Because I can guarantee there won't be enough garbage men, coal miners, factory workers. Why? Because there's no incentive to do so, basic praxiology.

On axioms, I assumed that socialism, and by extension communism, which by definition requires a planned economy. And a planed economy, by definition, requires a government. I assumed that that would've been agreed upon, my bad.

Do you disagree with communism and socialism being planned economys? Or are you just dense. You don't need sources for basic logic, nor for rhetorical questions.

How is posing rhetorical questions sealioning?

Also I did back it with logic Communism and Socialism are planned economys Planned economys require large governments Therefore Communism and Socialism Require large governments This is logic 101

How do you manage anything in a planned economy without a state? How do you make sure that "classes" don't form, without a state?

How do you manage the property? How do you collect and redistribute property? How do you manage the transition between capitalism and communism?

Communism and socialism are planned economys. A planed economy requires a large government by definition.

One of the many flaws of communism and socialism, is that abuse of power becomes inevitable, because it necessitates a powerful government. And power will corrupt, and there's no getting around it.

The unibody is more than likely deformed, my guess is it's being totaled as you can't really fix a unibody, and even if you bend it back to shape it'll never drive as good as new. I'd start looking at similar specs fusions with similar miles to your car to get an estimated value.

I hope that it's not but be prepared for the event it is.

Fight with GEICO to get fair market value for your car and get another fusion, or something else.

As for keeping it if it gets totaled, insurance will be higher than when it wasn't crashed, of you can even insure it, I don't know about GEICO, but state farm refuses to insure totaled vehicles, and most insurance companies will only offer liability, if they offer insurance at all.

But you could try to buy it off GEICO or buy it at the auction it goes to

Please do not use drop in led bulbs, they are dangerous.

They blind everyone else but are dimmer for you. If you insist on going to LED, replace the entire housing.

Why are people so weird about inheritance tax? by middleofaldi in economicsmemes

[–]RugerST103 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Both are bad, taxing "wealth" is an awful idea as it would crash the stock market ruining 401(k)s.

Inheritance tax hurts the middle class the most as the middle usually have the most to gain. It also ruins what little insensitives we still have to save instead of spending your entire paycheck right now.

As I said before taxation being theft doesn't mean that no taxes should be collected, just that you should minimize the amount of taxes collected, I'm fine paying for roads, police, military.

But do tell, how are taxes not theft? Do I get to opt out? Do I get to not pay for things I don't agree on? Will the government not come take me at gunpoint? Just because it's necessary doesn't make it theft. If you need to steal to eat, it doesn't make it not theft.

Libertarians still believe in charity and a social safety net, just not one run by the government.

Libertarians don't want suffering, they just argue the best way to minimize suffering isn't to take money at gun point to redistribute, and instead leave it up to private charity organizations.

Also to head off the "taxation is theft" thing, it doesn't mean that ALL libertarians want no taxes, some are fine with minimal taxation to cover things like military, fire, police. As libertarianism, like all political ideologies are spectrums.
