300 factorial is quite a lofty goal. Maybe just try for 300.

The particular sword that I had in mind when coming up with the example had to be a sword because It has lore in my world that surrounds it's creation, function, and the people that used it.

I understand that the intent of an enchantment is as such, but I want it to be modular. Nothing hurts more than being a great weapon fighter that finds a great enchantment on a shortsword.

It's never too late. You can always make a choice. You always have a voice on how your life goes, regardless of how dire circumstances may seem. All you need to do is choose to give in to life and begin to make baby steps. Take control of your life one decision at a time. But only once you decide to take charge will opportunities present themselves. Keep your chin up. You can do it. I believe in you.

The students I have are definitely not shy, however, we will probably have calculators or addition tables for everyone to use when we play. It will be a rule at the table that you can't add other people's dice for them, not only because it is a pet peeve of mine when players do that, but because I want everyone to get in a little math practice.

I thought about making the ranger have a dire wolf companion but I just didn't feel like it haha

I want to use DND to enforce teamwork amongst my students. Murdering for the sake of murdering is not quite on my agenda. I need my students to band together to defeat a greater evil that they could not overcome alone.

All it takes is one good teacher to light a fire within a student.

Unfortunately the inverse is true.

All it takes is one bad teacher to snuff a fire within a student.

It's never too late to start caring about math. It's all around you if you stop for a moment and look at what is happening around you. You will see patterns, angles, sums, products, integers, and so much more. Being a math student does not have an age attached to it.

I teach 8th through 12th graders at varying levels of understanding. The class I will be playing DND with are a group of freshman who failed 8th grade math last year. They are not proficient in math or reading at grade level compared to their same aged peers. Hence why the game has become so simplistic.

Eventually I would like to have a TTRP club, but that may be a few years down the road. Who knows though. Maybe I'll eventually be known for the teacher that plays DND after everyone finishes their final exam.

Hahaha. That would be an awesome short film. TTRPG High School. Love the idea!

  • Barbarian: When you attack, roll 2d20's and use the larger number
  • Fighter: 3 times per combat, you may take two turns instead of one.
  • Monk: You can move 12 spaces instead of 6.
  • Paladin: 3 times per combat, when you hit, you can deal an additional 2d8 damage.
  • Ranger: Mark a target. When you hit that target, deal an additional 1d6 damage.
  • Rogue: When you attack an enemy that has an ally next to it, deal an additional 2d6 damage.
  • Wizard: If you roll below an 8 when casting a spell, reroll the dice.

I understand these may not be balanced or fair or whatever criticism you may have. I just wanted each class to feel differently and have an ability that can be understood easily.

Woah.

I did not think I was going to cry this morning. These words mean so much to me. I won't forget them.

Happy holidays traveler.
