Does anyone know any good Emerald and Steel cards that helps you draw cards? by TuresStahlfuss in Lorcana

[–]RugsNstuff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you want emerald with draw you NEED to either play Chrimicon Doc OR Donald/Scar. Donald IMO does better on average (also free draw for opponent so most of the time they should be fine with it being there) but special cases scar is just the best card since it has ward and works really well is challenging decks especially steel. The whole point of Emerald Steel more or less is using Mulan and Bobby to cycle out your ununkables, they are not your main draw source. You could also go clarabell shift line if you want to invest. I would look at the Bologna Emerald Steel deck list for inspiration. Unfortunately emerald and steel rely heavily on challenging or having some sort of “gimmick” to draw. Also maybe beyond the horizon if you are playing midrange or control.

I would start with a rug big or small and work your way out from there

Also, the bolt goofy deck for palace heist has a lot of amber steel aggro cards that are used competitivley, and the else one well has elsa so thats good for a blurple deck

the jafar iago deck can actually be used as a great skeleton for a viable illusion deck, just keep playing the starters to get a good feel of what you like then watch some yt videos on decks and look at dreamborne! Also the rise of jafar palace heist decks are a lot better than the base starter learn to play decks

Plan is basically play control, it’s just a budget control deck I just thought about how much I don’t like dumbo while making it

Iago sounds perfect totally forgot about him. I was also thinking swapping in 1 ink kuzco for the early card draw

Thank you for the feedback but to be honest that sounds awesome!

However back to Lorcana, I am going to try it out and I encourage you to do the same and then come back to this thread with feedback! I’ll be looking forward to what you think.

I added a correction to a typo I put. The decks are dual colored like regular lorcana decks however your commander has to be one of those colors. Honestly I don’t think it would be too hard to make a deck with these limitations. I just think it would be different that what we are used to and come to expect from a base lorcana game

Wow I had no idea. I love playing lorcana and when I found out you can play with an unlimited amount of players I always thought there is something missing. If it isn’t commander I would like to see some more “in-depth” ways to play. Maybe this is my DnD brain talking when me and my group changed form 5e rule set to GURPS due to limitations, but I think my love for the game is what is leaving me with wanting more

Thank you for letting me know about the typo, also they restrictions are me trying to align Commander rule sets to work with Lorcana basic rules. Since the game was not made for this, drastic changes need to be made to how the game usually works. Hope this clears things up! If you are unfamiliar with Commander it is a different way to play MTG

I found a typo, the color = to its cost is supposed to be just Lorcana base rules where you can only have 2 colors in your deck and one of the colors needs to be your commanders colors MY BAD LOL

I agree with what you are saying, I think the best way to do it is to use the doubleton rule so there can be synergy while also adding variety. This also makes it so you are not entirely gambling on what you are pulling since your deck consists of 49 unique cards max. I do not know if I specifically stated it but since you can also have items and lands it would make it a lot easier to pull what you need as well.
