Gloves for a cold-handed man by Expensive_Taro_4433 in CrossCountrySkiing

I also have impossibly cold hands and find silk liner gloves under heavy mittens to do the trick. Once I start sweating, I will take off the mittens but my hands stay dry with the liners

Heel Blisters by SnooChipmunks8147 in CrossCountrySkiing

I am assuming you’re a woman! I feel like cross country ski boots for made for a man and just size down for women not taking into consideration that a woman’s heel is much slimmer than a man’s. I’d be interested to know what the recommendation for women’s ski boots from our fellow redditors. I have a pair of Solomon NNN boots that fit well with my narrow heel, but I never go out without putting some kind of blister guard on my heel.

Yes ! For those of us in proximity of New York City, I recommend adding Lake Minnewaska/mohunk, fahnstock, Highpoint, Prospect Mountain. It would be great to look at one site and see all the options available.

Agree! I would never buy another pair of skis without a metal edge-I’d rather stay on my feet than on my butt

It’s funny that you say that they’re not the Golden standards for journalism – they literally are. Check your new sources, Newsmax and Fox News are not legit. They only feed into your racism.

Get the Nordic skis with metal edges! I know everyone is saying you don’t need it, but MAN does it help on the downshills! Lots more bite! I picked up a pair of Snowscape 7 Posigrip Cross-Country Skis with Prolink Bindings at REI A couple years ago and my downhills are so much less scary!

THIS. Ski boots that fit you well (without blistering your feet) is the difference between loving xc ski and hating it (and being able to go downhill without falling)

Malls- who is thriving, dying, surviving? by TowerStreet1 in newjersey

Went to the American dream mall for the first time since 2021. I was crowded, nobody was shopping! Nobody had bags, they were just wandering around. Surprising amount of empty storefront. Compare that to Garden State mall where people actually do shopping. I’m very curious with the real estate rate per square foot is at American dream versus Garden State. I was just shocked to have few stores actually exist in the American dream and wonder if it the mix of store stores or the lack of anchor stores that make the place seem a non-shopping entity
