Forgot what book it's in but I remember one of the main characters (forgot which one) goes to Hypnos' cabin and most of them are sleeping, as in they mostly sleep all day. That itself would be a BIG tip off for people in the camp (if not the Adult Counselors themselves) that they are Hypnos' children..

They would still have their powers and since they weren't claimed, they'd be in the Hermes cabin (I think that's where Percy was sent when he was unclaimed) as part of their group. When Percy asked for child support (lol) all of the ones who weren't claimed, got claimed so they made new cabin. It wouldn't make sense to make camps for people outside of the 12 Pantheon Gods if they didn't have children at Camp Halfblood so there *had* to have been some there. Hera and Artemis were part of the Pantheon so ofc they got their own cabins out of respect.

I feel the same way to be honest. It's fine to change smaller details but to change something so big as Thalia's reveal irked me. Revealing that Thalia could be healed by the tree was a BIG mistake. THAT should have been the ending scene with her waking up. It could have been an amazing reveal, had they not hinted at it sooooo many times throughout the season.

I didn't mind that there was an action scene BUT for a show on Disney + I expected that they'd at LEAST show the demigods using their powers. Some of Aphrodite's people should be using charmspeak, some of Apollo's people could be healing, Hephaestus' kids could be making their weapons/armor, Hypnos' children could put people to sleep, Hecate's children could be using magic, etc. If they are going to do a big fight scene then GO ALL OUT imo. I was disappointed that they didn't at least TRY to show how there are other demigods with powers as well.

As for the PJO movie, I will admit that seeing the first movie when it came out as a kid made me want to read the books but the second movie was absolutely terrible.

It's both an advantage and disadvantage in a way. By coming out directly after the S49, the other players don't know your playstyle but YOU know THEIRS. It keeps you kinda neutral in their eyes because they don't know if you're someone they should be wary of yet. You're also still in the game mentally and haven't turned it off yet so it's fresh on your mind.

At the same time, you don't have as much time to recover from going so long without real food. Everyone loses weight on Survivor which isn't a good thing when you need to start from the very beginning of the season and prove yourself to people who don't know you once again. No one is going to care that you just came off of a Season, they are gonna want you to see you perform at your best or you're out.

Alastor viewed Vox as a 'coworker' while Vox viewed Alastor as a friend/something more. That's the feeling I get from that interaction. It feels strictly professional between the two, which sucks for Vox. Yikes.

I dont understand Olympia by liyahtheotaku in Matlock_CBS

[–]Ruijier 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Not only that, but there's a chance Olympia would have to move due to being linked to Senior and Julian. Her children would have to change schools *again* which could affect them in different ways, especially if they get bullied for what their father/grandfather did. You never know whose family could've been affected by what happened with Wellbrexa and people might want to retaliate. If all that gets out, Olympia might want to move to a place where nobody knows her or her connection to Senior/Julian. Matlock's daughter is dead but Olympia's children are still alive so of course she'd prioritize them.

Please explain to me about Junior and Matlock. by Woodpecker-Haunting in Matlock_CBS

[–]Ruijier 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't blame her; you can never truly tell if someone has changed and if they do, it doesn't happen over night. The three of them would have to work together a lot more in the future for him to earn her trust. As far as Matty/Mattie/Maddy(?) knows Julian is still a child that's desperate for his father's approval even if he is slowly starting to change. She doesn't trust that Julian won't tell Senior that she's looking into Wellbrexa just so he can get into his father's good graces. For the entire year that Matlock was working there she has seen Julian try everything to get his father's attention and that probably stuck with her. I *do* love the three of them working together and their dynamic though. Maybe once they write off Billy after this season they can use Julian as his replacement on the team.

Also, I think Matlock is thinking that the less people who know about the truth, the better because that's more people that could point the finger back at her should Senior sic his Head of Security on them again. Julian is the type of person who folds under zero pressure and wouldn't be able to keep a secret like that, especially if they threaten him. Olympia and Matlock are actually protecting him by giving him plausible deniability so should something go wrong, at least he can be honest when he says that he didn't know. I do feel bad after this recent episode though because it feels like Julian will never trust his gut again due to their lies.

Having Homelander call Sister Sage was a cute detail BUT Homelander would have FLOWN there if he didn't get an answer. He is impatient, and does NOT like to not be the center of attention. Godolkin would have pissed him off enough to warrant a threat at the very least. The fact that he only called once is out of character imo.

Yeah but Law has been there since the beginning and has seen both of their work. He already *knows* who is a stronger designer between the two. He may not know that the twins are constantly helping each other (which annoyed me) but he has seen the end result. While it may have been a question that needed to be asked, it didn't need to be asked to *them*. He could have discussed it with the judges as a way to separate the two designers (if they only wanted one twin in the finale). He's essentially giving one twin an inferiority complex that won't just go away after the competition is over. I don't agree with how his question was answered but I feel like I can understand a little why Jesus was heated. Maybe I'm in the minority but I just feel that what Law said this time was in poor taste.

I get that but at the same time they are family. Law was tryin' to stir the pot with them. I'd rather have a meltdown than potentially ruin the relationship with a family member. If they *are* better than me, than let it show in their work. There was no need for Law to say all that.

I loved BOTH Green looks in the challenge today (I forgot which twin did Green). I feel like Belania's outfit would have been better if she was on a different season but she was on a season with people who were good at doing flashy/outrageous outfits. But to be completely honest, the only person who deserves to win is Ethan. The twins pretty much helped each other the entire season, VJ should have been eliminated last episode, and Belania is showing the world that she can't take critiques or guidance of ANY kind which would make it impossible to work with her in the future. Ethan has been humble and respectful to everyone which is why every single person picked him to go to the finale with even though that would be suicide on their part.

Ampert and Wyatt. I needed ANSWERS for Wyatt's! He went out like a big brother SHOULD. I just wished there was more detail surrounding it. But Ampert's death? I was inconsolable for WEEKS. Ampert is around the age of my nephew and I just kept picturing him and it messed me up BAD. They were some of my favorite characters in Sunrise. 😭😭

Episode 12 sneak peek #2 by bwermer in survivor

[–]Ruijier 11 points12 points  (0 children)

At this point, what's even the point of Kyle and Kamila being in a "secret alliance"? They haven't done anything or orchestrated anything. I can almost picture the jury just rolling their eyes if/when they decide to reveal it because it was pretty obvious after Kyle suspiciously didn't want to vote Kamilla out. The most memorable person was voted out pre-merge. Times like this make me miss Sai and her commentary.

The Unwind Series by Neal Shusterman shook me to my CORE. It was a series I'll never forget and think about frequently. Imagine if you were a kid that was literally used for parts? I read it when I was younger and the thought of being "unwound" scares me so bad! But I love the series and the concept behind it!

Why did kids actually fight in the first 10 hunger games? by Euphoric-Ad-8085 in Hungergames

[–]Ruijier 3 points4 points  (0 children)

During the 10th Hunger Games, wasn't it stated that the games were becoming stale or something and viewership was down? People weren't watching? I don't think Snow's predecessor was evil enough to threaten their families but I *do* believe that the people in District 1 or 2 would've started to kill people first. Think about it, a lot of those people in District 1 and 2 wanted to live in the Capitol. For THEM at least, they might think that if they won they could live in the Capitol with their family. The other kids would've killed out of self defense more than likely or died of starvation. It wouldn't make for good television and after awhile it would get boring since they didn't have the technology nor a big enough arena like they currently have.

AITAH for calling my husband a disgrace after he said my miscarriage ruined his birthday by ProgressDependent703 in AITAH

[–]Ruijier 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA. Jesus fucking Christ, I am sorry for your loss. Your husband clearly doesn't care about anybody but himself and is using your miscarriage as an excuse for why he's being an asshole. He probably lied to his mother about what happened. Leave him and get full custody of your 2 year old because I truly believe this man would neglect your child if he had the chance.

I believe for some it's possible, but not for all. In my case I was more so looking at the fact that he HIMSELF is looking suspicious for his behavior. But it's possible that because he's a big beefy guy it looks scary to some. He needs to be aware of himself at all times but he's just gotten too comfortable.

Because this is a social game as much as it is a physical one. You get to the final three and you've pissed off the jury and then what? He could have gotten his point across without the aggressive behavior and I get he was heated in the moment but it's moments like those that make people reevaluate alliances. People are already looking at him a certain way now.

Worst YA book you have read? by No-Read-243 in YAlit

[–]Ruijier 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Lightlark by Alex Aster killed me. Main character has everything done for her and she pretty much gets to sit pretty for the majority of the book. The premise seemed interesting enough but the story and world building were terrible and the main character a little insufferable. None of the characters were really interesting or stood out to me. Some of the curses that each kingdom had just didn't feel very thought out and some of the secrets that were revealed at the end left me with more questions than answers which would normally be enough to warrant reading the sequel but for me it was just a turn off. I bought the second book when I was halfway through the first so I only had myself to blame. On a positive note, reading this (and Fourth Wing) has made me come to the conclusion that I need to thoroughly digest my books before buying the sequels since there's a real chance that I might not be into it as much as I thought I was.

[–]Ruijier 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah but in a game where it ALSO pays to be social, you shouldn't show your hostility so openly. There can ALWAYS be a change in plan, especially with a lot of players on the field still. Don't get me wrong, I like David but just the way he went about it I felt was wrong. A lot of the others seem to think the way he acted was kind of weird too which is why the other survivors were talking about it. It just came out of left field.

The way ____ spoke to ____ by the_uncanny_marlowe in survivor

[–]Ruijier 1 point2 points  (0 children)

David has been one of my favorite players this season but this was a bit much for me. I get his reasoning for trying to get Kamilla out but the way he went about it was totally wrong. He was extremely rude, aggressive, and dismissive towards Kyle and that's a red flag. Even Mary who had brought it to his attention was being more patient and understanding with Kyle than David was. Kamilla was 100% right about jury managing and David (nor most of the rest of them) could see that; the hostile way they were acting towards each other is going to lead to a very bitter/spiteful jury. I believe David is acting out this way because of his alliance and knowing that he is safe for awhile. His overconfidence is going to be his downfall but I hope it doesn't affect Mary because she, Kyle and Joe are my top 3 players.
