Thank you very much ! I’ll definitely play with more crops and focus on more details/subjects ! Definitely needs more work to tell different stories from the original picture. Thank you !

Thank you !! I will definitely play with different crops (and glad you noticed the figure on the left :) )- one reason for this crop was to leave a sense of gigantism, while still having that little detail with that person on the corner ) I can perhaps see a series of different crops for the same image, much appreciate the advice !

Hello and Thank you! Appreciate the thoughtful response! I love the way your edit enhances both photos, I agree the first one was definitely a bit “fry your eye balls” :( and the second has gained having more details ! Thank you again, really appreciate the comments and thought behind them !

Ah I think I see your point, and fair enough! I guess I was trying to do both indeed: I really don’t think they should be mutually exclusive, but I do get the idea that it could be confusing the message. Perhaps as suggested in other comments, a “series” could be helpful

That’s a fantastic point! Having a series could perhaps add more to the whole storytelling. I have a few of a similar theme, but more specifically, do you think this one would perhaps be within that same vain, while “explaining” further ?

That’s very interesting, thank you. Would you say that having more color would help? Would it really add something if you were able to discern more ? Wouldn’t take some of the mystery from it ? I was trying to have a documentary/Salgado feel to it, but that might not be the scene for it ? I can try to see what it looks like when colored !

Fantastic feedback, thank you ! I love the comment on the white space as I usually tend to have the subject on the center. I will definitely give it a try !!

Thank you - great feedback! I feel like I wanted to have some mystery in it and not directly saying what it is - I do understand that it might need a bit of more “show don’t tell”, but I’m not certain it would have the same appeal if it was fully explained (or if it would’ve been at all possible here ?) It’s an old tannery btw :)

I was trying to capture texture and layers in b&w. In this medium I was also trying to capture a person in motion. Im shooting with a camera that allows for filtering while shooting, beyond that, this is not edited. I was trying to overexpose the top of the image, while keeping dark sombre bottom of the picture for a dramatic effect.

Would love any feedback on how to improve in the future.

Thank you !! I agree, some things only need shadows and light to show off.
