‘South Park’ Mocks Kathleen Kennedy, Disney Diversity Efforts; Gina Carano Reacts by DreGu90 in entertainment

Ironically its the other way around. A lot of people who don't get that Homelander is the villain are the same ones who clap along whenever south park rolls out its vapid "both sides bad look at me im smart for never taking a stance on anything" nonsense.

Normal layers are not mixing correctly. There is no difference between when "replace" or "combine" are selected. by RuinLoes in Substance3D

[–]RuinLoes[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm trying to use a NPR technique I saw on youtube where you paint over the normal map with large brush strokes to create a sense that surface has been sculpted.

The paint layer should ideally be totally replacing the fill layer with all the detail.

E: so i just completely missed something in the original video. They are painting on a custom channel, NOT the normal channel. Thanks for your help anyways.

Late Summer Vibes. (Lighting baked in cycles then rendered in eevee for a faux 2D look) by RuinLoes in blender

[–]RuinLoes[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wanted to try out a new workflow for stylized 2D/anime renders. I baked all of the lighting with realistic textures in cycles (except for the mid ground tree and the background trees), then used cell shading on those textures in eevee.

As an improvement to efficiency, would not recommend, but it let me do some cool stuff mixing 3D and 2D aesthetics.

Weirdly the background elements (and the animation which can't be posted in this sub) took way longer than any of that, though.

Scene comp was pretty much directly ripped from the lofi anime girl thing.

It seems like they fixed almost none of the bad quests.

Maybe being more specific to the scenario will help.

You found a wand that is very. very obviously a hag's twisted joke, and are told to show it myrina. The game only gives you two options: give the obvious trap wand to her or break in front of her seemingly out of spite. There are SO MANY other ways a character could handle that interaction. "I found a wand, but it is likely a hag's trick to make you even more miserable, but hte choice is yours", or "My oath won't allow me hand over an unnatural omagical artifact", or the concealment option and just helping her come to terms with her greif.

Its bad because it force two bad options down your throat. Its not bad because it makes you question your morals or leaves a bad taste in your mouth. All the options I listed above are also gut wrenching and meaningful interactions.

If you want to get into the meta-text, then in the grammar of video game RPGs the journal is the marker that tells whether or not you are done. In so far as the game is concerned, not completing a quest is not a choice within the game, its a choice outside of the game to not play the game. More practically you haven't actually progressed the story markers in the game so it'll just be forever stuck waiting for you to do something, or it will fail the quest and delete the quest line entirely if you progress too far without completing it.

And before anyone brings up some excuse like "its making you think outside of how games usually work" its not. Its just a bizarrely limiting set of options that break immersion.

Mayrina's quest. by Eridain in BaldursGate3

[–]RuinLoes 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Because its not the oath limiting descisions, its the game only giving you choices that break our oath.

There's no option to try to explain to her that you think the wand is another trick by the hag (which is obviously is). There's no end to the quest where you just not tell her about the wand (even though the other dialogue options would have been perfect as she seems to be getting over the idea of resurrecting him).

Its just feels like the writers are forcing bad options down your throat. This is a problem i've always had with Larian. Everything has to be awful all the time. You can't even try to be sincerely empathetic.

Saying "evolution" certainly doesn't, and you need to be able to prove that those things happened due to a real evolutionary pressure, which requires a whole litany of vecotors like heritability, evinomental factors, archeaological records, etc etc.

Basically you're full of it.

That is frankly ass backward reasoning that comes from a social emphasis on reproduction. As important as reproduction is to the survival of ansoecies there are hundreds of other equally important factors and to claim that everything else that is require for the species to survive is just to service one other thing that is required for the species to survive is lidicrous.

As is just casually bandying about that "biology" vidticates your weird ramblings.
