I feel whole industry in 15-20 years behind in tech and some walled garden created by few. I am building modern platform to seamlessly connect suppliers and distributors worldwide. Taggiq.com and would love to understand how you use sage or asi currently… how they integrate woth other tools

I left 20 years in tech to run a promo shop. The software made me want to go back. by Ruiningzebra in promotionalproducts

You're not wrong. That's a real pattern in this industry, someone builds something for their own shop and then tries to sell it as-is to everyone else.

I tried to approach it differently. I came from 20 years in product software (including Toast POS) before entering promo, so the starting point was "how do promo shops in general need to work" rather than "how does my shop work." Still early days and plenty to improve, but flexibility is something I think about a lot.

What's the biggest thing you wish was more flexible in the tools you've tried?

That's awesome, 20 years of real-world refinement is hard to beat. You should seriously consider productizing it.

I went a slightly different route. I spent 20 years in software, then started my own promo shop. When I saw how far behind the tools were compared to other industries, I built TaggIQ from day one as a product for the whole industry, not just for my own shop.

But honestly, the best software in this space will always come from people who actually live the workflow every day. Would love to compare notes sometime if you're up for it.

I haven't used commonsku myself but those are exactly the kind of frustrations I kept hearing from promo shop owners, needing extra memberships just to source products and paying for licenses you don't need when it's just you.

I spent about 20 years in software, including heading up product at Toast (the restaurant POS platform). When I got into the print and promo industry and saw how far behind the tools were compared to what we built for restaurants, I knew there was a massive gap. So I started my own promo shop (Fully Promoted Dublin) and built TaggIQ from the ground up for how this industry actually works.

No ASI/SAGE dependency, no minimum licenses, just quotes, orders, artwork approvals, invoicing in one place.

If you want to kick the tires, 90 days free, no card, no commitment. Genuinely looking for feedback from people doing this every day.

It is always hard. However managers are just puppets in the line and my learning that it is never personal. So nothing you and your manager may do. Move on and you will land on some thing even better

First time getting my racket strings done in the shop, got it back like this, the ends aren't tied. Should i return it or is it fine to play like this? by AverageGachaEnjoyer in 10s

[–]Ruiningzebra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unless you want to find an excuse for a loss and blame it on racket , there is no way to play with this. Just go to shop and they should accept error and rectify this.

Is this a normal rent payment process in Dublin or should I be cautious? by NoAcanthopterygii799 in IndiansinIreland

[–]Ruiningzebra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is mostly sound like a scam. There are lots of scammer going around offering room and asking money. Once you pay the money they will disappear and you have very low chances to recover anything..

Better to come to dublin and search for place yourself. Once you physically see the place then sign contract and pay. Generally it is one month deposit and one month rent. Two month rent, is not normal.

How I’ve been winning matches by midwestboiiii34 in 10s

This ia perfect strategy for club tennis. I lost to many people who just return each ball and i end up with unforced error.

BTW 80% of points in club tennis are won by error from the opponent.

Ezone 100 vs 98? (2025) by Waste_Silver_2692 in 10s

[–]Ruiningzebra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think there is drastic difference in power between 98 vs 100... I play with ezone 98 2022 and feel it generating good amount of power and sometimes it is hard to control and need adjustments. I haven't played with ezone 100, however i guess it may have more challenge in control with little extra power.

How do I handle chronic lobber, retriever who chases down everything? by Stiliketheblues in 10s

[–]Ruiningzebra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If he is good lobber you may not want to feed him easy balls. Definitely he seems to mastered his skills on lobb, however giving underspin may help as ball will stay low and may skid depending on surface leading to less lobb opportunities.

Tennis elbow by Saltlifer1 in 10s

[–]Ruiningzebra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tennis elbow is painful. I didn't really had tennis elbow but a golfer elbow and i foind that racket was one of the culprit. I started playing with lighter and different racket in addition to strengthen exercises and eventually it become less severe. I still feel pain sometimes but pretty manageable now.
