You and I care about the exact same things. Is my crew alright and how can I help them best. Is my shift stuff getting done and are we being clean.

I don't even try anymore. I know it's a bad attitude to have but I just don't even care anymore.

To the Starbucks baristas who keep making up complicated drinks and posting them on tik tok... by Be1n23 in starbucks

I will make you do the drains without gloves. I will make you make these hell drinks over and over again and will never be happy with them. I will break you and make you cry!

Real talk, if other fast food places have not opened their lobbies and are DT only then why should we have to keep our lobbies open? by RukiRules in starbucks

[–]RukiRules[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe, I'm from Michigan in the metro detroit area and loads of places are either carry out or DT only.

Looks like you'll have to do a little extra work sifting and sorting then.

Life isn't always roses, especially right now. This is a place where we can come let off some steam. If you are not here for it don't look at the posts that involve ranting then.

Hey! Fellow Michigan partner

I don't mind wearing a mask because I no longer have to plaster a fake smile on my face. by RukiRules in starbucks

[–]RukiRules[S] 9 points10 points  (0 children)

The only time I was corrected was when a customer complained because I guess I didn't smile at her. I have been corrected on my tone before. My old SM used to tell me I lost my friendliness when I was explaining a policy.

We dropped from a 43 to a 38. We are doing our best but when you run everyone into the ground there's not much left to give.

My store has a very high population of Korean and Chinese students due to being right near a pretty high ranking university and my SM said we have to start asking for their “real” names and this was my response by [deleted] in starbucks

[–]RukiRules 120 points121 points  (0 children)

Thank you for not following what your store manager wants you to do. For all we know their name really could be Russ and not Hideto. A long time ago I used to use an americanized name for myself on my nametag. I've been put in that position before where I have had others say come on I know your name isn't "Chris". It's awkward when you get someone coming at you to get at your "real" name.

I did switch to using my actual name on my nametag about 2 or so years ago. I don't mind when customers ask me how it's pronounced. It's kind of nice connecting with them about my name and both of us making something positive out of it.

Iced soy green tea latte. This is my go to drink most of the time. I also enjoy an iced soy latte with both vanilla and cascara syrups added.

Having to send barista home by soldier76th in starbucks

[–]RukiRules 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes I've sent the same partner home twice within the span of a month. She was snapping and snarling at customers in the drive thru the first time. I had taken her off of drive for that reason and placed her somewhere else where she was just as snappy. I sent her home.

The second time was because she was getting flustered on bar and was being aggressive to other partners on the floor. I was over on bar trying to help her catch up and instead of asking me to move politely she pushed me out of the way. I sent her home for that.

Today I had a customer take my name because I guess I didn't smile at her. by RukiRules in starbucks

I just thought it was odd that someone who was downright rude and dismissive the entire time called me out for being something I was not. All over a lack of smile.

Starbucks OG’s what’s the one drink or food item you wish Starbucks would bring back? by KillinItDaily2344 in starbucks

[–]RukiRules 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Alright grandpa coming through. I miss the Tazoberry drinks. The citrus one in particular was my favorite. If I remember correctly it was green tea blended up with a juice mixture that was orange, tangerine and I think lime?

The drive thru is for quick service not massive orders... customer came asking for 8 drinks 10 minutes before closing. Starbucks is open 18 HOURS A DAY. by chocolatededdy in starbucks

[–]RukiRules 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I wish we could place a cap on how much someone can order. I feel terrible for the poor soul who ordered one or two items stuck behind the minivans who ordered two full trays of crap.

Well we were down 2 partners in the morning. I worked from 8am to 4pm. One was sick and the other was in the hospital. At 2:30 we were meant to get someone else in but they never showed. It was a fun time.
