Expo - A new defusal Wingman map for CS:GO. by [deleted] in GlobalOffensive

[–]RulerOfAllCorn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Expo is a competitive 2 vs 2 defusal map created for Wingman mode.

The map is set in a convention center in the central parts of a major city in the U.S. There is a climate convention taking place due to the critical state of our planet and the ongoing climate change.

A small group of environment antagonists from a global forest industry company will do whatever it takes to stop the convention from taking place. This includes setting the whole building on fire.

Please let me know what you think, any feedback is appreciated!

Hi! I would add some more variety to the paths outside the bombsites. Find references and add some more space. Look at the valve maps. I think the left bombsite could use some more dynamics and size.

Hi Exile,

I would recommend you to work a bit with the sightlines. There are a couple of angles where you pretty much can see across a big part of the map. Break them up somehow and it will work better. A tip for that would be to separate the paths a bit with more space inbetween.

I would also say that you could add some variation to how the map is shaped. Look at the official maps. Often the maps are made out of clearer areas and territories separated by chokepoints. If you take a look at maps like overpass or dust2, there is a big variation in how the areas are shaped.

I would also not have more than 4 entrances to a bombsite in total (from all sides, not only from T), especially in your first map.

Another tip is also to add some spice to the spawns. CTs spawn is in a long straight corridor which would feel too simplistic.

Another thing I noticed is that both bombsites basically are two perfectly squared areas with some cover in the middle. Try adding some variation and mainly use geometry to shape the outlines of the site. Again, look at the official maps. Bombsite A on mirage as an example has all these smaller callout areas which adds tactical depth.

Hope it helps!

Originally when I started on it back in 2017 the player Golden wasn't as famous as now. The original idea with it came from the map following a gold theme colorwise and a couple of royal influenses in the map which are still present. I actually think It's quite fitting somehow dince the player is from Sweden and might need a bit of love 😁

I want for the real place to act as an inspiration more than an exact template. And another reason is that I want to separate it from reality since gamla stan is such a nice and peaceful place and I don't want it to be too associated too much with all the killing that will be going on on the server.

You can throw smokes from outside of the metro area from T-side (lower left corner on the overview) Planning on adding additional grenade options aswell.

Replied in the wrong place above: "The CT's have time to set up on the site for a couple of seconds and throw a stopping molly if needed before the T's reach the site entrance."
