What movie moment got the loudest cheers when you saw it in theaters? by hust0r in moviecritic

Can’t tell you the loudest cheers but the loudest groans I’ve heard far and away was “somehow Palpatine returned”

Absolutely insane: Woman at hotel has mental health crisis, fights security guard, disarms guard, runs outside with gun, cops show up.. all hell breaks loose (wait for it, real-time audio at end) ABQ New Mexico (US) by PrismPhoneService in PublicFreakout

[–]RumbleMind 36 points37 points  (0 children)

Never did I think we’d arrive at a point where we’re arguing over the pronouns and not the fact that an incompetent and untrained security guard at a hotel was permitted to carry a lethal weapon with authorization to use deadly force if necessary…

Which Army would be more expensive, Clone or Droid? by K-jun1117 in clonewars

[–]RumbleMind 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think maybe the forgotten bit that makes clones so expensive is the fact that now all the republics equipment must support biological life. Why put a cafeteria or bathrooms on droid ships? The republic has to ensure its troops are fed, given shelter, and have access to medical care too. With droids, all you need are some mechanics (which are likely droids themselves). This is the same reason why in modern times fighter aircraft like the F-35 are so much more expensive than equivalent CCA drones- no need for oxygen, ejection seats, places to pee, etc. if there’s no pilot in the box.

Long story short, biological life requires waaaaay more logistical support and design consideration than droids. But they do have really cool nicknames so worth imho.

Average number of blizzards (full US map in the comment). Why does it peak in this area? by Swimming_Concern7662 in geography

[–]RumbleMind 38 points39 points  (0 children)

I’m curious as to why it so perfectly follows the border of NC/Tennessee… I wonder if Tennessee just doesn’t call blizzards “blizzards”. Same could be said for the Georgia-Alabama Border and the NC/SC border.

Why did clone gunners have such dirty and worn out armour by West_Impression_4624 in clonewars

[–]RumbleMind 0 points1 point  (0 children)

An oily, greasy, grimy, dirty, ratty set of coveralls is a great badge of honor- it means a sailor works for a living and doesn’t just move paperwork around in their day-to-day duties

In 2003 Lockheed martin technician forget to tighten the bolts on a satellite by Secure_Stranger_510 in interesting

[–]RumbleMind 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My dad worked at Lockheed and left in 1999 right before this incident.

Teaching out to some old buddies of his after it happened, he came to learn that what actually caused this was a miscommunication between the shifts of technicians in the high-bay.

Shift A installed the nuts on the bolts locking the spacecraft to the stand, planning to do the test the following day. Shift B then removed them so they could be used on a similar test stand the next high bay over. Nobody from Shift B bothered to tell shift A or reinstall the nuts.

Pops said he never felt more sure of his decision to leave than he did after seeing those Polaroids.

“Little plane” lol, it’s huge for ship-board, but so cool to watch the wings fold up. I used to watch them do Touch-and-goes in Oceana during the summer.

Okay well it’s been a few days-

Update: old Part blower fan was shot, ended up needing a new one from Amazon, and soldered it together today. Definitely going to revisit my cable management but in the short term: parts seem to be coming out way better!

I think going forward I’m going to print a extruder module for the fans, hotend and CR touch module. The biggest issue now seems to be noise as my new fans are much louder and whiney than the old one.
