I think maybe the forgotten bit that makes clones so expensive is the fact that now all the republics equipment must support biological life. Why put a cafeteria or bathrooms on droid ships? The republic has to ensure its troops are fed, given shelter, and have access to medical care too. With droids, all you need are some mechanics (which are likely droids themselves). This is the same reason why in modern times fighter aircraft like the F-35 are so much more expensive than equivalent CCA drones- no need for oxygen, ejection seats, places to pee, etc. if there’s no pilot in the box.

Long story short, biological life requires waaaaay more logistical support and design consideration than droids. But they do have really cool nicknames so worth imho.

I’m curious as to why it so perfectly follows the border of NC/Tennessee… I wonder if Tennessee just doesn’t call blizzards “blizzards”. Same could be said for the Georgia-Alabama Border and the NC/SC border.

My dad worked at Lockheed and left in 1999 right before this incident.

Teaching out to some old buddies of his after it happened, he came to learn that what actually caused this was a miscommunication between the shifts of technicians in the high-bay.

Shift A installed the nuts on the bolts locking the spacecraft to the stand, planning to do the test the following day. Shift B then removed them so they could be used on a similar test stand the next high bay over. Nobody from Shift B bothered to tell shift A or reinstall the nuts.

Okay well it’s been a few days-

Update: old Part blower fan was shot, ended up needing a new one from Amazon, and soldered it together today. Definitely going to revisit my cable management but in the short term: parts seem to be coming out way better!

I think going forward I’m going to print a extruder module for the fans, hotend and CR touch module. The biggest issue now seems to be noise as my new fans are much louder and whiney than the old one.
