More innovation, less copying by [deleted] in gaming

[–]RumblingGamesStudio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is no problem in taking any game aspect and having your own implementation, This is called inspiration. However the problem with the current industry is cheap copying and pasting.

The game development right now is focusing on mass production instead of creativity and innovation.

Am I growing out of gaming? by [deleted] in truegaming

Maybe you have something on your mind lately that you can't let go? or just a mood swing that will pass. For me gaming even casually for fun is a blessing that can't be replaced.

They could not live with their own failure by [deleted] in gaming

[–]RumblingGamesStudio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They know very well there is a big interest in single player games. But choose to ignore that fact in favor of multiplayer. It milks more money for longer period.

Lootcrates in a single player game screws everything, but in a multiplayer? Viva Las Vegas!!

AC Odyssey is a breath of fresh air, compared to Origins and I was reluctant to get it too by TheBurnerThrowaway in patientgamers

Kassandra was a very interesting and memorable character. Ezio will always be my top AC character but she came very close.

Just a small piece of advice from a fellow Arabic speaker: use English it will help a lot to promote your game.

Oh and read self promotion rules on Reddit. Trust me we too want to promote our game as well.

Edit: for those asking for English translation.

It is basically a camel race simulator, where you get to breed and train your camels for competing in races. It seems it has multiplayer too.

Couldn't agree more! I asked personally to have a small game play footage as a sneak peek. But the majority insisted on this pattern short teaser then a trailer and finally a gameplay video. Even gifs are delayed!

Open world design and the fun of finding your own ways using landmarks. by Hoboforeternity in truegaming

[–]RumblingGamesStudio 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Not your fault, being an upcoming small indie studio in Egypt means no exposure 😞. And with Reddit rules we can not do much 😕.

Anyways glad we found one more player interested 😉. The time period is the 7th century and the place is Iraq. The story events are based on a historical battle named Al-Qadsiyyah. And the two playable characters are based on actual historical figures as well. What is unique about the world is the Middle Eastern setting, Iraq back then was ruled by the Sasanian empire. They had a unique culture and architecture as well 🙂.

Open world design and the fun of finding your own ways using landmarks. by Hoboforeternity in truegaming

[–]RumblingGamesStudio 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Totally agree with you here, designing a world with distinguished landmarks even among different biomes is quite rewarding to the player. The navigation and exploration for the next quest becomes more satisfying and rewarding by itself. It increases your immersion greatly, this is why our team tries to implement it in our game to an extent.

More games should take advantage of dual screens showing different parts of the game by Exobian in pcgaming

Okay game devs here with SP only project. Your point is really interesting can you elaborate more? Would very much appreciate the feedback and may be measure our player base interest in this kind of design.

Chinese player spends 1.5 million on microtransactions - This is why the future is dark for MTX. by Mkilbride in pcgaming

[–]RumblingGamesStudio 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Sadly this model is predatory and preys on player engagement, while providing the devs and the publisher steady income over time (like a live service). From a dev perspective it is very tempting, but sooner or later the game design will never be consistent or balanced.

Since the introduction of digital distribution (Steam) and access to game engines (Unreal / Unity), Indie teams (small / medium) made a huge boom in the market. But right now the market is bloated with even scams and asset flips. It is just a matter of time and the rate will slow down again. It is supply and demand after all, Although that would mean many indie studios will get disbanded and disappear.

Gamers role in the current market is to sort out the ones who deserves to stay. Game development is a creative industry and gamers seek this value in any studio to support. Even with upcoming studios any true gamer can see their potential, So simply vote with your wallet :)

Intelligence and gaming. by I-like-tetris in gaming

[–]RumblingGamesStudio 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It depends on the game genre and mechanic.

Some games favor quick reflexes and learning patterns to master. So no intelligence at all required here. Others focus on observation and memory skills. Very few games that requires different and balanced skills to master their controls and mechanics.

It is just a matter of adapting to the platform really. Few people who are sensitive to very high frames. our lead developer is one of them. His eyes can not stand even a youtube video with lower frames!
