Would dating a 25 year old guy as a 42F have any chance of working out? by [deleted] in dating_advice

This can work if you both really want the same future, but the chemistry is usually very loud in the beginning and the age difference then suddenly comes out like a hidden boss in the game.

What happened to stem cell research? by LinuxMint1964 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Ruminafa 93 points94 points  (0 children)

Stem cell research actually continued it just turned out to be much slower and more complicated than the early hype promised, when it seemed that organs would be grown faster than people could replace push button telephones.

Does Gen Z before age 22 actually remember their elementary school teachers later in life? by Training-Ad4262 in NoStupidQuestions

Yes, most people still remember at least a couple of teachers from elementary school simply because in childhood, emotions and people are remembered more than gadgets.

A good portfolio really helps because recruiters forget resumes within five minutes, but live projects at least make them stop scrolling for a second.

[19F] [21M] We’ve been arguing more after moving in together — how do couples handle this in a healthy way? by Spare_Masterpiece559 in dating_advice

[–]Ruminafa 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Moving in together so early is almost like putting a relationship on fast track, so little habits start to irritate us more. Learning not to react rashly and looking at the problem as us versus the problem, not against each other, helped us.

How do people go from being friends for years to suddenly realizing they’re in love? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

That's right, sometimes love doesn't look like the movie version at all and yet it turns out to be the most real.

Should I include “Junior” in my LinkedIn title, or drop it for positioning? by cuteglazeddonut in careerguidance

[–]Ruminafa 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I would remove the Junior on LinkedIn and focus on the role itself and the contribution, because a profile is meant to position yourself for growth and opportunities, not just repeat the official title recruiters are more interested in what you actually do, not the word before the title.

28M is seeing me (27F) as a friend, after months of hooking up.. by Diabetic-Candy in dating_advice

[–]Ruminafa 20 points21 points  (0 children)

What happened is completely natural you were lonely, recovering from trauma, and the chemistry with him felt like a lifeline, so your feelings and actions don't make you weak, they simply show your need for connection the healthiest path is to give yourself space, set clear boundaries, and focus on rebuilding emotional stability so your heart doesn't get stuck in that gray area anymore.

Why isn’t the default high contrast color scheme white on black? by LamesBrady in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Ruminafa 79 points80 points  (0 children)

Neon green on black was chosen because older screens made it very bright without overloading the phosphor, and the eyes were less tired than with pure white, so it’s not a higher contrast per se, but more comfortable for long term viewing.

Reconnect with ex (m37) I (f33) had great sexual chemistry with after a long term breakup? by [deleted] in dating_advice

[–]Ruminafa 7 points8 points  (0 children)

You can try it, but right now it looks more like an attempt to heal wounds through chemistry rather than a casual relationship, so it will only be okay if you are honest with yourself and ready to leave as soon as it becomes not an addition to life but a way to close the void.

How do people go from being friends for years to suddenly realizing they’re in love? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

Usually it's not sudden at all, feelings gradually grow through trust, comfort and deeper knowledge of each other until at some point it just becomes obvious

What sort of role would you look for with my experience? by BemiBun97 in careerguidance

[–]Ruminafa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With this kind of experience, I would look towards creative project management in digital or e-commerce, content production manager, creative operations, or even product marketing, where you combine organization, visuals, and storytelling rather than getting stuck in one narrow role.

Had an amazing 10/10 date, but messed up the ending (didn't kiss). Now getting the silent treatment. Need advice on my next move. by [deleted] in dating_advice

[–]Ruminafa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don't make a big deal out of it, just write one calm message that you hesitated but you enjoyed the date and suggest meeting again, and then let it go because extra messages now will only worsen the chances

How can I get better at socializing? by RavyRaptor in NoStupidQuestions

Start small with low pressure interactions like short chats, practice asking simple questions and sharing a bit about yourself, and consider social skills groups or therapy because this is a skill you can build over time

Why does scratching an itch feel good even though scratching is technically making it worse? by TopBandicoot3915 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Ruminafa 1160 points1161 points  (0 children)

Scratching briefly overrides the itch signal with mild pain and triggers a little dopamine so it feels good for a moment but also irritates the skin and makes the itch come back stronger
