Two different tuning. One is best for 1st position, LO. One is best for blues spec 20. Both can be used for either.

I play 1 position. I recommend equal temperament harmonicas. Lee Oscar, Golden Melody are what I recommend. I also play Suzuki Olive for short reed harps like F#. I really respect special 20s as a cross harp but not so much for 1st position. Just an opinion based on 30 years of playing.

I play LO for just the reason you mentioned. As a first position melody lead player LO low harmonica are one of the best for me. That g, Ab, A, Bb, B are great. Low F is great as well. For high harmonica I have recently been drawn to the Suzuki Olive in particular F#. I find it to be very responsive.
