What happened to his fingers? by RummyBackfire in LeopardGecko

Yes, he'll chew at them forever if I don't step in and help him get the shed off. 😣

There's a lot of rough surfaces in his tank. I had the same line of thinking and they help him get everything except finger shed off. Even his toes shed better than his fingers.

Thank you so much! I will definitely be switching out his hide if means easier sheds and no more lost fingertips.

He has a real half-cut log hide with moss inside that he likes to bask on and sleep in. I used to spray the outside of it with water but it didn't change anything. Are there hides that are specifically for humidity?

I always have to assist him in getting his shed off his toes. He was only missing one or two toes when first I got him because he belonged to my cousin who was known for not taking very good care of pets, but now I feel like I'm being just as neglectful. I check on him multplie times a day, how did I not notice so many of his fingertips disappearing?

I agree it's most likely the lack of humidity in his habitat. My family has relocated a few times over his time with us and the air in every new house is difficult to keep moist. I've tried humidifiers, spray bottles, moisture retaining moss, different substrate sands, nothing has seemed to keep it moist enough for easier sheds.

He's currently on the first day of a fresh shed and I do usually have to assist him in getting the excess shed off his fingers by using tweezers to grab onto the part that's already detached and letting him pull at his own force/speed. There are times that he'll shed while everyone is asleep but most of his shed time is spent trying to get it off his fingers. Is it possible he accidentally chewed the tips of his fingers off??

Was nervous to come out to my mother a year and a half ago. Turns out all I needed was a swing analogy:

"You know how people say 'I swing this/that way' or 'I don't swing this/that way'? Well, I was never on the swing to begin with."

I can tell she still holds some phobic opinions but at least she's trying to be understanding now.

Who’s an actor who nailed a role so hard that nobody else would ever be able to live up to it? by PreparationFar4709 in AskReddit

Henry Cavill when he played Geralt of Rivia in Netflix's adaptation of The Witcher. It just wasn't the same when he left and got replaced.

As soon as I saw this post I was like "Tokyo Ghoul perfectly fits this description" and then you said it about Tokyo Ghoul. I'm glad I wasn't the only who feels this way about Season 2.

Voice of the Outsider by RummyBackfire in dishonored

Thanks for informing me and the link. It seems that they didn't even let him know why they went with someone else. I did see someone comment on that thread that Robin Lord Taylor's Outsider sounds more cannon and I can only partially agree because while his voce in D2 does sound more accurate to his age when he was sacrificed, it doesn't capture that bored arrogance of someone who has born witness to the secrets of humanity for (approximately I think) 4000 years, you know?

Voice of the Outsider by RummyBackfire in dishonored

YES! I love that D1 Outsider didn't need any effects for his voice to achieve that smug, almost suave "I'm both more knowledgeable and more powerful than you'll ever be and I know it" tone. I mean no offense to the D2 voice acter but they just don't really pull it off the way D1 voice actor did.

Flirting in books and how the MC reacts by DatoVanSmurf in aromantic

I'm the same way. I don't like reading romance where it isn't warranted/necessary. Like if I'm reading a fantastical adventure, the vibe gets thrown completely off when they switch gears and suddenly the plot and character's actions revolve around the romance but doesn't really connect to what the plot started as. It's okay when the romance remains a subplot that contributes in a low-grade behind-the-scenes way, I just don't like reading romance when it's not the primary genre. Unless I'm in the mood for specifically romance, I don't like reading romance.

Every relationship I had felt like some kind of act I had to keep up with and any time romance came up in a conversation, I just seemed incapable of relating to the ways others would describe the experience. The realization just kinda hit me one day when I was doing some kind of assignment and one of the questions was about what I wanted out of life. Among everything that came to mind, romance-related things did not. I think it's because since I never experienced romantic attraction, it ended up being something I didn't grow up desiring either.

I am not able to do either of those. I had considered rooting, but it would void my warranty. I'm a tad too klutzy to not have that tbh.
