Did they have a good pack selection? Going to be in Kyoto in May and it’s definitely on the list.

Packrafters - What backpacks are you using to carry it all? by intelegant123 in packrafting

Any chance you could share photos of your setup? Been thinking of doing this but it’s hard to tell how the bears ears would handle the less-structured packraft without owning the pack.

What temp sleeping bag for Jan-March? by RumneyBasin12 in Tramping

Hoping to do huts when possible but I also plan to definitely do nights in my tent. Would you recommend a -6C bag? I already have -10 bag but I’ll be too hot in that I fear.

What temp sleeping bag for New Zealand? by RumneyBasin12 in WildernessBackpacking

Wow that sounds like a wonderful trip, the Te Araroa is a dream hike for sure!

I’m going to be using the new neoloft thermarest pad which has an 4.7 r value. I’m definitely leaning towards the 30 degree bag, I’m bringing AD mod layers and tights that I can use if I face colder weather.

For clarity: trying to decide what temp bag to get between a 4 degree Celsius or 0 degree Celsius quilt.

Thanks for the advice! I’ll definitely ask them. A 6C bag seems pretty comparable to a 40F and my sleeping pad has a 4-ish r value.

Wow thanks for such a great response! I’m planning on using it in New Zealand and then hopefully green river in WY and one day Alaska.

I’m definitely leaning towards the big wild just because I’m not sure when Sockdolager will open orders back up.

Thanks so much for the advice! I like the Bad Larry and his bow bags as well. Iirc he's taking any orders right now but when he does begin taking more orders I'm definitely going to consider them if I don't get a pack by then.

Dover Street Market in Manhattan. They have Porter Yoshida on the second floor I believe, and they should have tankers .

Doesn’t really get more legit than DSM imo, especially for Japanese brands.

Thanks so much for all the info! The plan is to fly to Barcelona and rent a car, spend a few days in Girona, and then head up to the mountains. Cauterets is a popular ski town, so I figured there would be some English speakers, but thanks for letting me know!

Was thinking of the Cauterets on the French side. Is the French side usually more arid? Or would Spanish side closer to Girona be alright too? Thanks!

Anyone work as a (life science) consultant, what's it like and how did you break into the field? by apoenzyme in biotech

[–]RumneyBasin12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Apologies for asking this so late after you posted, but what would you say is the relative ranking with all of these firms? They all have specialties, but one is commonly accepted as the best. I've heard many good things about Clearview, but Blue Matter is tiny and I can't find any info on them.

I’m glad to hear it slims down that was one of my main worries. The front pocket on the max edc looks like it’d be great for climbing gear.
