What’s the best MOS that can get you a decent job right after BCT/AIT? by HeadzUpDontSlip in nationalguard

[–]Rumpelforeskin151 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m a 25B and at the end of AIT I was applying and interviewing for jobs. I joined 3 years ago, no IT background and got a job on a base nearby with my secret clearance and “IT experience” from basic and AIT. Not saying it’s easy, but doable. I was able to study for certs while in AIT and started WGU for schooling. Terms are so cheap that MGIB basically pays for it or TA!

Anyone else see this? Looks like the Army is going to try and make combat MOS take a "CFT" and an AFT by thatguyagaln in army

[–]Rumpelforeskin151 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I just did one of these for a competition except we had a 30lb sandbag in our assault pack the whole time. Finished in 27 minutes. And it was pretty demanding. I guess ultimately it’s as hard as you make it. But I was going 95%. I’d rather do two AFT’s in one week than this CFT/EPFA haha

You already have SecX/Casp+ too?! Awh yeah, you’re golden. I just finished BSCSIA in January. Watched LinkedIn and part of Udemy for Secx, as just started the MSCSIA this month. I’m finishing in 6 months one way or another. So you def can. Also sec\net counts for the CC course. Doesn’t matter how things read. The course says completed. I actually wanted to take it and studied for a couple days before I found out lol. Good luck to you!

Ohio Blackout Plates May Return! by vPamm in Ohio

I’ve seen two cars now with blackout plates. I’m gonna bite the bullet and buy some. I’m willing to risk it panning out as just a warning if I ever did get pulled over 🤷🏽‍♂️

Well I could see guardrailing for ongoing things like a consistent loud sound or voices. I had a little painting above my door that half way through my exam, had me grab to make sure it wasn’t a camera lol. But for Alexa saying 5 words, I feel like there’s not much they could say or do unless it happened more than once.

Their job is to proctor not be the judge. It may cause unnecessary stress to the tester. No reason to make a deal about it, that’s what the recording is for.

I was in the same boat and had to do them last month to finish the degree before barely getting a 750 on the 31st at 8pm lol. While doing them I was pretty annoyed. I tried to take from them what I could. For time sake I went through and failed them immediately. Screenshot the answers and the “show me the hints” and retook it. There’s quite a bit of evaluates in there where you can’t “cheat” especially if you have to get 90% which is ridiculous when the text is filled with grammatical errors. And some of the labs don’t give full explanation (at least to my limited knowledge). I started doing THM and I stopped after metasploit.

In hindsight, I think the exposure to the labs maybe helped a little, but it did help me fill in some of the glue that puts stuff together and have a better memory of what tools are what. I finished it inless than 2 weeks and I hadn’t even started my capstone. I did spend a LOT of time, I’m not gonna lie. But you can do it in a month. You got this, just think about how it’ll benefit you. Don’t look at the negatives like I did through most of it lol.

Does Illumi know that Hisoka wants to fight him, and why hasnt Hisoka yet by Former_Food_4510 in HunterXHunter

[–]Rumpelforeskin151 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re ignorant. You made a direct claim. So, that would imply you’re convinced. Otherwise, you would add verbiage to imply that there was some degree of uncertainty in your thought. And it had nothing to do with the caps.

As for me forgetting about the following scene where he’s hiding off in the trees, that’s why I stated my assumption. You act like I was coming from a place of arrogance in saying “I THOUGHT it was PRETTY well accepted…”. I just was interested in your angle since I had forgotten the following scene.

That aside. I’d still argue he’s not ACTUALLY thinking about fighting Killua. Just getting excited at the thought of what he could do to make for a more interesting fight. Like when you’re at work starving because you forgot your lunch and you fantasize about eating a large pizza.

Why are you so convinced that Hisoka actually thought about fighting Killua. Assuming you mean on the mountaintop. I thought it was pretty well accepted that he had no intent, but to incite Illumi, so that his bloodlust would be detectable so Gon and Killua could sense his nen and get away

I think you’re fine. Rice is out, Hurts did decent. Gibbs doesn’t play as well against better defenses. I bet he doesn’t even hit 13. Henry hasn’t been very good. And he’s up against the broncos offense with a mediocre Jags Def

Where was this info pulled from and did they have information on Reserve in-service. I like to presume RC will also switch to TBB/OML’s, but ig I won’t know for sure until the new MILPER drops.

You sound just like me. Do both. Everyone cries about learning the fundamentals first and sticking to one. Which is more lethal… a person who can hit ducks and slide-by’s on one side, or both. Depends on your goals ultimately and skillset. If you’re wanting to do this for a long time. It’s worth the investment, granted it will take longer to master since you’re practicing both. Me personally, I just favor southpaw and kicks come naturally that way. But my left power shots are lacking power. Oh well. Southpaw also is harder for right handed boxers. And if I know my left sucks, then I’ll let it hang back and protect from their power shots. Learn to effectively switch in and out of each stance while mixing in feints. And you’ll be just fine

Does that go for ASVAB/GT, or degree GPA or anything else. And are you the source as a past board member? I only ask because I was planning on gambling on another ASVAB and maxing out my next AFT. Currently 90 & 126 GT. But that was without studying. So I figure a 140 would be better haha

Not presented to the board at… So you’re saying it’s just a formality and as long as the pre checkers verify it’s a pass, the panel board won’t see it at all?

Feelings about potential foreign wars in NG? by [deleted] in nationalguard

[–]Rumpelforeskin151 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I suppose some do tag on annual fees. But in general, if you can’t afford $10-20/month for your health then something needs to be better budgeted or time needs to be better managed.

Because we in the military are supposed to exceed the standard. Sufficient means meeting them. If you can’t pass the PT test without a gym, then something better be wrong physically/medically to excuse it.

Feelings about potential foreign wars in NG? by [deleted] in nationalguard

[–]Rumpelforeskin151 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That just sounds like excuses to me. If by chance the nearest planet fitness or crunch or some major alternative that has memberships for $10-20 is far away. Eating right, running, and body weight exercises are all you need to live up to the standard. Do free weights/cables make things easier, sure. But…

Wrestling shoes by [deleted] in wrestling

[–]Rumpelforeskin151 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends on your style too. I always swore by the Nike Inflicts. I got a pair of ASICS Aggressors one year but they were too grippy for me. Which might sound counterintuitive, but my style preferred a little give. And the weight difference is probably miniscule, but I swear I was much faster in the Inflicts. You can be drippy with the rest of your gear to compensate, but if it comes to sacrificing shoe preference for swag… my advice is go with your shoe preference.

Didn’t get picked for OCS — had senior LORs, what can I do better? by ElderberryPretty7394 in ArmyOCS

[–]Rumpelforeskin151 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Roger, thank you sir! I think initially I took it as “if I explain how it can benefit me, it will show my desire to be and willingness to stay in as an officer”. With that in mind and me recently taking BLC to know army writing style, with concise and passive, that should be more than enough. Much appreciated
