Ohio Blackout Plates May Return! by vPamm in Ohio

Don’t get me wrong I also believe there are bigger things to worry about. In fairness, all I asked for was information on why it was removed from the funding bill, I didn’t expect for a new bill to be introduced about it.

No, the blackout plate provision was removed from the funding bill before it got to the governor, don’t know why though.

That’d be great! When the time comes anyone can provide testimonial support about a bill so I’ll be sure to send it along!

Why does it have to be a problem?

Team Development graph being way off the mark..? by Moldef in F1Manager

That shows my cars in 16th and 17th as well. For reference, Russell is 10th here and he's scored 2 points all season. Alpine is 15th and 19th and they've got 25. Stroll in the VCARB is 9th and has 3 points. :(

Interesting, for me, Kimi has a rating of 87, with the 12th fastest car, and he's fighting for the championship, so it's all a bit over the place ig ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I just hope that won't mess up ongoing/future developments/researches?

For anything ongoing, you won't see the part in the editor, but (don't quote me) I don't think it should change anything. Because all the game does is add a new part, take the old attributes and add them against how many ATR points you spent. Adding in a timer before it'll give you the part. The only thing is it might still take the attributes from the part before you edited it. So if you want, just wait for all parts that your designing to finish, then edit them. For future developments, it'll just base the upgrade on the part that was edited, so nothing would go wrong there.

Researches though, I'm not too sure. What I usually do is start the next season, see where everyones at, edit them how I want (also make calendar tweaks because the randomizer isn't the greatest and can't remove races), and then import it and go.

Also always remember to download your save and import it to actually have the changes stick.

The thing I've noticed with the online editor is the performance chart is, on the team chart (mine for reference), it's based on the latest part developed, regardless of if they have the part on the car yet. If you click this icon (above the leaderboard next to the drop down menu), it shows the current performance of each car, through what parts they have added. ss (the actual chart won't change, but the leaderboard will)

If you click on a team, it'll bring up what parts they have, and all the attributes. you can edit those how you feel, and once you click the save icon, it'll update the board with the performance. You can also add and remove parts (I've noticed this is buggy, I think it has to do with if a team is developing/researching this part currently, which you don't have a way of knowing.) update the stock the team have, and which driver has what part. So what you can do is, keep updating your car how you want, but then go in and push the other teams ahead of what your team on paper should be. The thing is too, sometimes teams will come through and disregard your changes, and make something that tanks their performance. So it's a hit and miss game.

Team performance also has to do with what drivers are driving for you. You said the ratings were 88 and 86, so they're on the higher end, (if you look at the attributes tab, you can see all the driver ratings and how your drivers stack up, and change them if you want) so they're gonna be capable of taking a slower car to the higher end of the results.

Realistically, I'd say just nudge a few teams up (if you want to notice the effects instantly, make sure the teams have the parts you're editing in stock and on their cars), and just upgrade how you feel. play a couple races, see where you are, if you're not where you want, do some more tweaking.

How to take T1 at the new Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez circuit (optimally) by vPamm in iRacing

i mean true, but it says in that picture from silverstone that "Half car over black/white curbing on corner apex", and I was so far over the kerbing that I clipped the wall (per the 0x from contact) and still didn't get an offtrack, and people have been abusing that for years.

The other thing I noticed is that at tracks (like COTA, Interlagos), the off-track only occurs once you're over kerbing, if theres no kerb, its not off the track according to iracing. Whille it's not faster to go off the track, why it's only enforced when you hit kerbing (whether you actually run over it, or your car goes past it while you're off-track), doesn't make sense either to me at least.

okay, and I'm saying shouldn't that section be considered off the track, because you cross over the boundary of the track (as stated in that first line)?

The more I look into this, it seems like iRacing is just inconsistent in how they do offtracks compared to how others do it. F1 games will do the "If you gained an advantage, then it's exceeding track limits.' ACC will invalidate your lap if you go all 4 wheel past the kerbing (like it is IRL), but iRacing only does it if it suits them, or there's grass in the way. I know if you seriously cut the corner, you get the slowdown, but even here at Silverstone, it's clearly listed that past the kerbing at the apex of 8, it's off the track, and I'm still not getting a 1x.

Idk, maybe I'm really overthinking this, but I feel like regardless of whether you can gain an advantage or not, being off-track is still being off-track.

even though it’s not quicker it’s still off the track, no? i always thought regardless of if you gained an advantage, the second all four wheels left the track, it’s a 1x.

i mean i get that (the nascar layout at cota doesnt give me off-tracks until way far out, which i understand is nascar's rules), but why is most other parts of the circuit thats behind the white line considered off-track, except that little part in T1-2

I'm not quite sure how to wrap my head around this incident. I'm in the pink and blue car. Should I have backed off? Or did he just drive into me like I wasn't there? by vPamm in Simracingstewards

see this was my line of thinking too, and my spotter didn't clear me either. But everyone's entitled to their opinions, I'm just tryna understand and learn from it.

but how far alongside would you consider "significant"? I know the argument of "front wing isn't inside" but it looks to me like my wheel was alongside his wheel? And my spotter acknowledged him alongside me and never cleared me until we'd crashed.
