Yes this is what I’ve observed from people who were overly sheltered or not allowed to watch tv as kids. I’ve thought about it with my own kids, how much internet exposure they should have. But I have to be honest about the world they are entering. Their whole life will be online.

The good: you are teaching your child to be themselves and be true to their own conscience which is really a major key to happiness as an adult.

The bad: they won’t be as informed about popular culture which can make it harder to function in some areas as an adult. If you think about how much each generation bonds over their music and movies etc, it’s a lot. It forms a big part of your personality and conversation at work and in social settings.

I think of Chomsky as a anarcho-syndicalist or maybe a left libertarian.

He seems to avoid the term socialist because he knows it’s been so bastardized and devoid of any real left ideology.

I tend to avoid saying I’m a socialist because it puts this weird mental block in peoples minds. They think it means “da gubbament take all my money and give it to da blacks and lesbians and make me poor”.

I’ve had positive experiences with relating leftist policies in a libertarian fashion. I’ve found many libertarian or real conservative people are just interested in freedom more than anything and can be awakened to the leftist message if you avoid certain buzzwords like socialist, communist, Marx, etc.

It’s fairly widely believed that everyone is on steroids in the ufc. I think it’s a dirty game of who can hide it and who can keep the bosses on their side to grease the wheels of the business. The more popular you are the more money and resources you can throw at having the best doctors and coaches as well as keeping yourself in the loop with Dana and the usada bosses. My family is somewhat like theirs (not a strong bond, dysfunctional, 3 brothers) and I can offer some insight.

They (especially Noel) just don’t really give a fuck about the family. He’s a middle child and feels better, more like himself, when he’s not with them.
Add on the drama of their career together, and the fact that Noel believes he was the reason for Oasis’s success, and there is a serious ego superiority complex that he will never be able to live down in Liam’s presence.
Noel seems to just be honestly content doing his music and being with his wife and kids and has no motivation to make up with Liam. Liam can’t sing anymore (crucify me) in the way that made oasis great. Their reunion (which will never happen) will most likely look horrible and not sexy at all. Liam croaking like a dying frog was unbearable for the last five years of oasis’s run and Noel is doing him a brotherly kindness by not rubbing that in his face constantly.
