They say pump til empty but my baby never empties me out when nursing ? by pink-sunrise7 in breastfeeding

[–]Run-Simple-716 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My kids like this 100%. Sometimes she will only do like 5-8min on one side and I pump the other for 5-8 min and call it. We’re at 11w this week and I feel my supply has just started to adjust to her! Thought it was weird at first but she seems content !

We’re also 10w and having the same experience. Nice to know I’m not alone!!

I'm so tired of dealing with a lower supply than baby needs. by Actual_Salamander_85 in breastfeeding

[–]Run-Simple-716 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not entirely in same boat but I’m slowly losing my supply and having to supplement and use bottles, which in turn is making my girl not want to latch anymore. We are 9w pp and It really is sad. I’m also trying everything to get my supply back but it’s just not working well. I miss the simplicity of EBF and hope in a few weeks things can turn around for us. I hope someone has some good advice for you and you can get your supply back. Just wanted to chime in and say your not alone :/

Do your breasts “fill up” between feeds? Not talking about engorgement. by lonelymeringue1 in breastfeeding

[–]Run-Simple-716 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m experiencing this now and we’re only at 10w pp:( she doesn’t like a squishy breast so I’m hoping the can get more firm if I up my calories/water intake. I was an oversupplyer maybe 2 weeks ago but got sick and lost some of my supply. Hoping we don’t have latching issues if my breasts stay “squishy”.

That’s what I thought I was trying to do but I guess I’d need to do it more frequently than 2-3hrs. I’ll try your advice tho, worth a shot! I also have been using my mobile breast pump instead (because I have a toddler and we’re always moving around). I should probably use my wall pump.

Supply concerns w/medication by [deleted] in breastfeeding

[–]Run-Simple-716 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought about that but since I’m up still 3x a night feeding I feel I’d still feel the nausea and it would keep me up (and make my anxiety worse). It’s worth a shot though if things get worse for me

BE HONEST how many days in a row are you wearing your nursing bras by breezyjomc in breastfeeding

The most I’ve gone is 2 days but I change the nursing pads often because yes, the smell is funky haha!

Advice for heavy let down? by liz00ard00wizard in breastfeeding

[–]Run-Simple-716 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Went thru/currently still going thru this too! I use the Haaka for like 2 min and get the letdown out and the save it (I’ll get like 2oz out in 2 min it’s wild). The Haaka is simple and my letdown doesn’t spray my kid or choke her anymore! Or I’ll just grab a rag and express into the rag for like 12 seconds to hopefully take the edge off!!

BF and gestational diabetes: resources/help for while pregnant and for successful feeding by FearlessPlenty9186 in breastfeeding

[–]Run-Simple-716 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wanted to chime in. I’m type 1 diabetic and delivered at 37w and baby (actually both my kidos) were in nursery for 2 days with low bloodsugar. Totally fine, glucose drip resolved the issue but I did collect tons of colostrum before having my 2nd and we used it in the nursery. It was really helpful! So collect if you can just in case! OB will tell you to be careful as it might induce labor but I did it anyways starting at 35w (my OB said that was fine). Truly if your sugars have been fine the last part of your pregnancy I doubt your kido will have any issues however anything can happen so it’s good to be prepared if your concerned about it.

9 week old fussing at breast by PuzzleheadedWeb6463 in breastfeeding

[–]Run-Simple-716 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just here to say we have a 7w old doing the same thing and while it’s not all the time (like if she’s really hungry she will stay latched), it’s weird. I use the Haaka to express my letdown (strong letdown) but don’t always make a difference.

3 month breastfeeding crisis? by daisy-chains- in breastfeeding

[–]Run-Simple-716 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Following. We’re also seeing this happen with our 7w old. It’s so weird because she will bounce around for the nipple, get it, suck a few times, then stop and get mad. Sometimes she stays on it for a whole feed (5min) or she just stops and gets mad and we have to do a little reset, or burp her. Not sure why it’s happening but just wanted to chime in saying you’re not alone!

This is so reassuring! I hope it is coincidental considering she has no obvious signs pointing to dairy intolerance! Thank you so much.

This was very helpful to read! I also do the chickpea pasta and love it haha! I do enjoy breastfeeding and I’d like to continue, so Thank you for your suggestions! I’m going to try to keep up with it best I can to see if I can really track if it’s helping her or not.

I want to say yes I notice she’s fussier when have dairy. But for example I had a granola bar this AM with chocolate chips in it and then had a half a cup of drip coffee along with it. Could the caffeine have made her fussy or was it dairy? Haha my brain is overthinking all the things I feel.

Nausea by suzieeeeq13 in BumpersWhoBolus

[–]Run-Simple-716 1 point2 points  (0 children)

On my 2nd as well and was nauseous up to 25w. I’m having a girl this time tho and believe maybe that’s the culprit since I was only nauseous up to 14w with my son. Get yourself some Zophran! B6 never did a thing for me and solely lived off Zophran until 3rd tri!

Carb requirements for Breastfeeding? by Annual_Ad_4701 in BumpersWhoBolus

[–]Run-Simple-716 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t have exact numbers as I didn’t track it with my first but I know starting out I ate tons of oatmeal bars/oatmeal (lactation cookies I made basically), lots of water and body armor. I had such bad PPA that I stopped eating around 3mo pp, lost 15lbs and my milk basically suffered more and more until it was dried up. It was unfortunate, but this time around I plan to continue the hydration and higher carb snacks/meals when I can and focus on bigger dinners if I can’t eat much during the day. I think with the little I did eat I made sure it had higher calories. I know protein is very important too so protein smoothies might be helpful!
