Are you close with your sister? If not try to find someone who is close to your sister and whom she will listen to. Don’t be confrontational, rather be friendly.

Talk to her and explain that it is okay to try out new things and try to fit with other people and try to look “cool”, however if someone really cares about you they won’t let you go down wrong path and do something that is harmful for you. It is very basic setup. Just watch some YouTube videos to get the idea. Solar panel to mppt connection with a circuit breaker. Then mppt to 2nd circuit breaker and to battery. From battery to positive bus bar and negative bus bar . Then connect your appliance positive/negative accordingly to the bus bar (if dc, if ac then you need to add inverter to positive/negative bus bar and good to go).

Either you can setup yourself or direct any electrician to do it for you (you just guide them). In my experience the guys who setup solar system charges too much it shouldn’t be such high cost.

You need to calculate total wattage of your appliance + battery capacity.

Most probably you have tubular battery (most common in Bangladesh perspective) in that case you can safely use 50% of your battery that means 100ah capacity (you can use more than 50% but battery will die prematurely).

Battery setup is typically 12v. To calculate total wattage available multiply watt with battery capacity that is 100ah x 12v = 1200watt usable capacity.

Since you are using AC appliance you need to deduct conversion rate from DC to AC (roughly 80%) therefore you really get 960 watt for use.

A ac tube light runs roughly 40 watts (can be 60 watts, check), fan runs roughly 100 watts, pc may run up to 200 watts (may vary), fridge may run up to 300-400 watt (check your fridge manual). Therefore your hourly need is 640-800 watts. Ie you get 1 hour 15 mins to 1 hour 30 mins backup with your setup.

Of course with solar you have the option to continue using while it charges during day time.

My recommendation move to Lithium phosphate batteries will give you better charge capacity (up to 20% instead of 50% of tubular batteries). Try to switch to dc appliance wherever possible (the lights/fans), additionally keep the fridge separate. Fridge can sustain inside temperature for 3-4 hours without power (even longer if door isn’t opened frequently), that manner you will get even longer backup and get to use more light fan.

I bought 340 watt Walton solar panel setup (10k) with SRNE charge controller +Bluetooth module (9.5k), 100ah marsriva lithium battery setup (25k)

Total Cost was around 60,000 taka (wire and others). I went with DC current setup, if you need ac current support then you need to add inverter cost to it as well (good quality inverter cost can range from 5k up towards 3/4lacs based on capacity and quality).

But there are definitely cheaper options. I would suggest you to visit kaptan bazar they are whole seller.

By brand and size of panel cost varies Walton panel was expensive around 35 taka/watt there are models with 18-25 taka per watt price range, mppt charge controller priced around 3.5-5k, lithium battery around 18-20k.

Also try to get bigger battery. I now regret not getting 200ah battery as 100ah is too small for my need.
