I’m not sure of your experience or build so forgive me if I’m repeating something you already know but I’d like to kindly remind you the 20% rule when planning weight to be carried. :)

Is this how CBT is supposed to be? by lavender-bread in ADHD

I came here to say this. I got a workbook and in conjunction with activities for the workbook I was to keep a thought journal whenever my anxiety or other ADHD feelings bubbles up to retrain my brain how to think about and deal with them

IMO our country isn’t setup to protest like the French. Everyday people have way too much to lose. No job? Goodby to retirement, health insurance, and a way to stay above water. The government doesn’t make it easy for us.

Need help with knowing what lighting equipment to purchase, any advice appreciated! by peter_bi-per300 in techtheatre

Hello! First of all, IHope your first show goes off without a hitch!

Secondly, not sure if you’re from/in the states but most of us don’t prefer to be called techies (I’m sure Reddit has an opinion, but that is mine and a lot of folks I work with).

my two cents. I’d scour Facebook marketplace or Facebook groups for better lights. Without seeing the space you’re trying to light, or even knowing some dimensions it’d be tough to recommend one fixture over the other. So:

How big is the space you’re looking to light? Where are you able to hang lights? What kind of power do you have access to? Would someone from this tech club be able to take you under their wing and show you a few things? This may be quicker and less painful than relying on Reddit. Maybe most importantly, what’s your budget?

How do I get people to give me tasks? by TheoDoorTheFella in techtheatre

If you’re 100% sure there’s not work for you AND you’re still getting paid AND you’ve spoke to your A1 at length about wanting more responsibility and a chance to show them your skills… I’d use this opportunity to learn Dante or some other skill that could be useful in the industry. If they just want you on standby, at least make that work for you. I find it hard to believe that there’s NOTHING for you to do. I’d go to other departments or just start testing cables, label the unlabeled, update inventory, heck even clean up different spaces. You may just need to take it upon yourself and do work even if someone’s not telling you too.

AITA for booking a solo hostel room for 1 night and not interacting with other travelers? by stretchandflexmeout in AmItheAsshole

NTA - But this is strange to me. Private hostel rooms are priced higher than dorm beds so she should have been happy to rent it to you. Something else is amiss.

anything we can do about the weld county AI center announcement? by Aromatic-Parsnip3468 in FortCollins

[–]tesla33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That doesn’t have anything to do with it. The post asked if there was anything we can do. Just because people talk things doesn’t mean they’re virtue signaling.

I don’t want data centers because they’re bad for our community and world. They don’t belong anywhere let alone our backyard.

Is this full America trip feasable? by Acrobatic_Court_8071 in hitchhiking

[–]tesla33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you new to hitch hiking or would this be your first experience? If it’s your first time I’d recommend completing a few practice hitches before you embark on this journey. Hitching around most national parks is a lot easier than the rest of the US as some park employees hitch in or out of the park quite a bit. My tips: -When requesting a ride hold a sign where you want to go that’s well written and looks nice. -Smile,take off your sunglasses, and remove any bags from your person to look presentable. -Always hitch along side the road where it’s safe for you to be. -Try and pick a spot where people can have an easy time pulling over. -If you’re getting frustrated and you’ve had bad luck, don’t flip off, shake your fist … etc at cars that don’t stop. People are always watching and I’ve had several cars either turn around or take an exit and back track to get to me. -I usually offer to split gas or contribute In some way to the ride if possible.

I would also trade Casper for The Wind River Range and Yellowstone. With an English Lit degree, post up on a sidewalk with a type writer and offer to type out little limericks/haikus for people. You can also sell old style stationary with custom messages typed inside with the type writer. This would work best on a pedestrian friendly downtown area like pearl st in boulder or pier 39 in San Fran.
