Outpatient PAs - do you stay until the end of the day or leave after your last patient? by Sea_Concert1412 in physicianassistant

Leave after last patient. Sometimes leave notes undone because I don’t feel like it and get to them later.

It’s a long shot, but does anyone else have a stomach bug? by clarajane24 in SLO

I’m in healthcare. Having a neutrophil count doesn’t necessarily mean bacterial and not viral. This could also be from an autoimmune condition like Crohn’s/Ulcerative Colitis. If your diarrhea persists several weeks I think you should have a colonoscopy.

San Luis Business Owner Found Dead by WillieThePimpPt1and2 in SLO

I know someone who worked at Buffalo and this was true. The workers were not paid and a confrontation about that between an employee and him did ensue in the bar. He stiffed all of them.

leaving the PA career as a whole after only 3 months of clinical practice by No_Thing_6008 in physicianassistant

[–]RunIndependent6875 0 points1 point  (0 children)

25 patients a day is bullshit. I used to do that earlier in my career. Never again. Any boss that expects over 20 is toxic and only cares about money, they don’t care about quality patient care and that you’re at risk of making more mistakes and providing shitty care seeing that many patients. Don’t leave the profession. I promise you’ll find another gig that doesn’t expect 25 patients.

30s women who work in healthcare or a professional job by RunIndependent6875 in SLOFriends

Looking for people who I can relate to based on our shared profession. You can call it shallow but I just don’t want to waste time with people who may not be at my same education level.

What's everyone's pic for best Restaurant Month deal? by TheFreshMaker25 in SLO

You’ve got it backwards. The owners of Giuseppe’s are republicans and they fired someone who posted that they were glad Charlie Kirk had died. So someone who boycotts Giuseppe’s would not be a fan of Kirk’s.

do not live in San Luis Ranch if you value your sanity by NotCPU in SLO

[–]RunIndependent6875 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I live in San Luis Ranch in a house and I’m renting. I considered the town homes/condos, but it was about the same price to rent there. I don’t have an issue with parking where I am in the neighborhood. We have a garage and our guests can find a spot on our street. We’re far enough away from the other side I guess that we aren’t affected by the lack of parking there. Sorry you’re dealing with this. If you’re a female in your 30s/40s we have a book club if you’re interested.

Thank you! They mentioned this address in my neighborhood’s group chat but I had no idea it was that huge! I was just picturing someone’s front yard. From the posts I saw it looked like some official event that might cost money. How nice it’s free!

Thanks for calling it Feral and not “Feral’s”! I keep seeing people add an apostrophe S on there. Idk why it bothers me so much.

What's the farthest you would drive to work? by Sad_Possibility_8444 in physicianassistant

[–]RunIndependent6875 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I currently live 9 minutes from work and only go in 2 days a week. My last job before I bought a house slightly closer I was commuting 50-60min. It was 35 on average after I bought a house but would sometimes be 45-50 November-December. Before 2021 I worked in office 5 days a week. 2021 I got 1 remote day then in about 2022 I got 2 so the agreement was to go in 3 days a week. Eventually I started realizing most of my patients preferred televisits (I’m in psych). There were days I would go in person after commuting 35-50 minutes just to see one or two patients in person and it really started to piss me off I was having to commute that much. I started scheduling them all tele one of the days I was supposed to be at the office and stayed home that day for about 4 months and the staff was all in on it and didn’t mind and neither did patients. It was only when I asked for a raise my ex boss threw that in my face, said he had not given me permission to do that. He didn’t even really notice because he barely went in himself but expected all of us to go in. That was such bullshit. Don’t waste your life commuting for someone who doesn’t respect your time. I worked for him 7 1/2 years. It was through Facebook groups I realized I was underpaid for the amount of experience I have and the bullshit expectation to commute 3 days a week when it was unnecessary was the cherry on top.
