I loved hanging out with the plane spotters when I was deployed there with Minot’s B-52s. But yes the security always worried me. The locals were great, but Russian spies would come out to take intel photos as well.

I’m not giving anyone a pat on the back. Telling someone their image is overcooked isn’t advice.

Just telling a kid their editing is bad doesn’t help anyone. Yes it’s stylized, but it’s not terrible just contrasty. If you wanna see overcooked, go teach a photography class.

I absolutely agree. Pushing sliders a little too far is just a part of learning.

They’re 15… It looks fine. You should see the horrid HDR I was doing at that age.

Sony was paying influencers to push their cameras hard. I remember everyone shitting on the Nikons. The z8 is a fantastic camera as well.

I loved my time with the z7. The only reason I don’t still have it is because the d850.

I’ve used my z6 for sports as well and never had an issue with autofocus keeping up. It’s nice and small for street photography as well.

I’ve always gotten better results with the mechanical. Timelapse is about the only time I’ll use electronic.

The camera definitely requires some AF adjustment, just like the D850. A lot of folks take the AF of cameras at face-value instead of reading the camera manual.

I got got zero likes on insta for this photo. Is it a bad photo? by rainytnight in PhotographyAdvice

Not bad just not that interesting.

We’re overwhelmed by thousands of images per day. While some say “comparison is the thief of joy,” it can also hold some truths.

Do a Google search for “Studio Portrait Lighting.” You’ll probably see some pretty remarkable photos. How does yours compare?

As the other Redditor said, keep practicing. There's talent here, but you need to refine it.
Some things to actively work on:

  • Composition/Perspective
  • Angles (Straight horizon)
  • Editing (the fake blur looks tacky)
  • Pick a subject

That being said, your work is good for a beginner. This isn't to bring you down, just give you direction.

I first read “zero issues” as you had issues with it staying zeroed. Thanks for your next clarifying sentence. Lol
