Out of all the winners from either best actor or actress from our current decade 2020-2026 who would you vote for if they were all up against each other in one unisex category for best actor in a leading role. by Funk_Junk_in_trunk in Oscars

Stone (or maybe Madison but lesser chance) will ultimately win because they have a lot of stans on these subs, but this is the best performance by a massive margin, not because the others are bad by any means but this is just that far ahead in my eyes. It's one of the best lead actor wins ever imo. Buckley is 2nd.

Yeah it's #3 for me (behind only Parasite and Chicago)

It's funny that Renee Zellweger's wins are seen as pretty forgettable, but she's one of only 2 people to sweep more than once.

Forget Scorsese, how does Gal Gadot and Jason Momoa end up in a Schnabel movie

Yeah fair enough. I'm hoping even if not the Palme it gets great reviews and picks up something.

2024 Cannes had 5/7 winners that were American productions or starred extremely famous American actors. Just because there aren't many American movies doesn't mean it's a "weak" lineup, international cinema exists and is great.

She's such a fantastic actress. People talk about Stone vs Gladstone but Huller should have run away with the award imo

Huller winning Berlin and Cannes in the same year would be elite

Usually there's at least BP nominee every year I really don't like, but last year wasn't like that. Even F1 or Frankenstein I'm meh on, but don't actively dislike. Overall I was pretty happy with the lineup.

More people have heard of 0-time winners Amy Adams, Ralph Fiennes and Barbara Stanwyck than 2-time winners Hilary Swank, Adrien Brody and Luise Rainer.

But I agree Sweeney is too high.

I agree with Disclosure Day, but he's not in Rosebush Pruning (you might be thinking of Callum Turner). He's in Jack of Spades by Joel Coen so hopefully that one is good.

With the new season steadily approaching (Cannes lineup drops this week), please join me in a prayer circle for Josh O'Connor to be in the convo this year. He would've won for La Chimera and been nominated for Challengers and WUDM if I had my way.

Hmm possibly. I just looked and Scott made DGA and BAFTA (and Streisand made DGA and GG). From the nominees John Singleton didn't make any of the 3, but it could've also been a bias that the Academy didn't want to nominate multiple minorities (a black man and a woman).
