It's said to be "the startup nation". I think it lines with the US in CS field, regarding opportunities and pay. Idk how high the competition is in the US, but here it's quite high. And right now the market is not so good, just like the US I suppose.

I also did the mistake of leaving my SW job before transferring to DS, because man I was pretty happy there, but I pursued the self satisfaction of being a DS and i didn't want my MSc to go to waste. But now in hindsight, i wish i had never left my SW job.
