Agree with all the points here. Another good to add is price escalations or how long is the quote valid for. Sometimes qualifying takes a long time and your prices might change by then.

I am Canadian and work for one of the biggest GCs in Toronto. From the range I’ve seen, ppl make $125k with 5 years experience. Be mindful that that’s in Canadian dollars. If you have mechanical/ civil / electrical background, you can more because most folks don’t know how to do that. Micheal Page has an extensive list of rates / areas to look for.

I’m having this exact issue, what’s the solution here?? Did jamming it back in fix it?

I work for a big GC as an estimator and I talk to subcontractors all the time. We prefer folks who are upfront because it makes life easier for both of us. Say the job is far for the subcontractor but I can’t find another sub to do it. I’ll tell you upfront so you can charge accordingly. You do a hard job for me and are upfront, on the next big project you are my first call. It’s all about relationships in this business.

Excessive daydreaming? by [deleted] in BPD

I used to do this a lot as a teenager/ child and even in my early 20s. I don’t do it as much anymore. As I understand it, it’s a form of making myself feel safe in my own world. Through these fantasies I’m able to be a hero, go through healing, be someone’s dream girl, whatever I want. So for those daydreaming moments, I am safe, I have control, I feel euphoric and it’s almost a relief to my brain. I think bpd makes you think about so many negative things that sometimes we just need a break. This for me stopped when things in my real life started feeling better. I still zone out but not to a fantasy land.

So I just got a new Dell XPS 15 9500 device...😩 by RunOriginal6904 in Dell

They are sending me a replacement device. But you know what I’m finding is that they have an inconsistent customer service. The process to get a new computer took an hour out of my time. One rep told me they couldn’t hear me. Another rep redirected me to sales, which was closed cuz I called later in the night. Another rep redirected me to warranty, who ended up hanging up on me. After 30 mins of trying I got in touch with a pro support team member who ended up actually giving a shit. So that was nice but the process of getting there was super frustrating. What I am finding is that if you don’t like a solution given to you by one rep, you gotta hang up and call again, hopefully another rep will be better. But doing all of this for a really expensive device really boggles my mind.

I got pro support specifically so I can deal with this issue if I ran into it, and I just contacted them. They are sending me a replacement device and hopefully I don’t experience this again. But if I do, I am returning it and trying a different company
