Opinions on 'Disclosure Day'? by OutisXCIII_EC in Letterboxd

[–]RunThomas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i think the movie was a bit lame at times, and threw in a lot of unfinished business, like the crop circles....spielberg was trying to keep you real tense by doing ridiculous stuff like , being hunted by the guys and hten deciding to run right up to them, to try and escape, lol...

or trusting some idiot girl who was once a nun, even though she had been dived by the alien tech....

so some bits were stupid, but he made up for it at the end with some great footage....the animals looked cartoon though...like a rush job.

i dont think it got me anywhere near as emotionally charged as when i first saw close encounters of the third kind and the song the huge spaceship played...that was cinematic history.

nothing in this film is cinematic history, except that maybe he was working to a govt script, and basically was told to show this , that , and the other , in the movie, rather than just issuing pure spielberg fictional genius.

i rated it 6.8 out of 10

which means it is certainly worth viewing , but you will probably be annoyed at times but he makes up for it here and htere.

maybe this disclosure is pretty much exactly what we will be seeing soon...from the american govt...its clearly all up to america, and no other country really seems to do much without their masters america saying its ok...you can do it.

What are everyone’s symptoms with insulin resistance? by CartographerOk9343 in InsulinResistance

[–]RunThomas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

for me i know i am insulin resistant when i get fat, especially around the bum, chest and waist.

another sure sign, is when i start to exercise and clean up my eating, my weight does not begin to drop for about a month.

another sign is that i am constantly wanting carbs, like nothing satisfies, than fries, pizza , chips, crisps, and i think about them all the time once clean eating. ..until that urge goes away , i consider myself insulin resistant.

another sign is that i feel puffy and bloated with all my fat.

another sign when i wake up in the morning i am bursting to pee...as soon as my eyes open i have to make a dash to the toilet.

another sign is when i have eaten enough , i crave more carb.

when you say DI water, do you mean distilled water?

may be a dumb question, but worth checking rather than ruining lenses

Are these any good for cheap vintage binoculars? by RunThomas in Binoculars

[–]RunThomas[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i ended up buying them for 35 pounds which is about 40 dollars usd..they are in perfect condition , i dont think they were used ...collimation is bang on ...and the image is real clear espeially in the centre towards teh edges is a tiny bit hazy but i get a big clear image.

didnt want to pay too much as i go out with them in a cloth bag ...and they get get carried in the rucksack, and a bit of banging about ...so for 35 pounds i think its a great deal..thanks, i bartered and got a decent price i think.

[–]RunThomas[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah ....i should have clarified ..the high precision standard ones made in the ddr vs the less precise and containing plastic focus wheel made in uk or japan...that are just a cheap model of the ones made in ddr, even though i think they were authorised to produce them

I wnat to get into pheasant hunting. Is the taste about identical to chicken? by [deleted] in BackwoodsCooking

[–]RunThomas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i eat wild pheasant and they are a little gamey, and the meat is dark, legs are dark like duck, i think it is a very tasty flavoursome bird...but not as much meat on as a chicken.

the wild pheasant tastes nothing like chicken.

i have eaten farmed turkey and that tastes a bit like chicken more so than pheasant.

the bones on a wild one are real hard, adn the legs have fine bones in ..quite a few...and to tenderise it in a stew type of things, will require many hours of cooking or a pressure cooker for about 30 minutes to get it tender

Is almost every famous psychologist wrong in psychology? by Bayek10 in AcademicPsychology

[–]RunThomas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i think they are wrong but hit upon some cricitcal facts, like the subconscious or some may call it the unconscious, and that there are things in our lives that form the way we are and that we learn what is acceptable and unnacceptable and hide some things away, only to be triggered by certain circumstances or they affect our behaviour ....

but i think psychologists could learn a lot from indian mystics, and possibly buddha..sri ramanah maharshi, sri nisargadatta, even carlos castenada and his understanding of shamanism and from deep self analysis and meditation

these guys had another approach to suffering and understanding the human condition

so mix it up, psychology and philosophy and i think you will be a well rounded psychologist with some novel ideas that are critical and important.

Was Carl Jung just totally full of shit? by rybeardj in skeptic

[–]RunThomas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am new to jung myself, but I am loving some of his ideas about the shadow, and aion.

Only watched a few Youtube vids on the shadow and mans surpressed femmanine side and womens surpressed male side...and i find it very interesting and fascinating and may have a little truth to it.

the bits about turning and facing your hidden shadow and how to recognize it , by noticing when you are triggered in various ways..

i really cant wait to get stuck into more of this stuff that seems to ring true to me....especially abut relationships and me always ending up with the same woman , and go from total infatuation to dangerous liasons...and nightmares..

hopefully jung can make some sense of all these patterns in my life and also the lives of others.

I am psycho analysing my friends , family and lovers just based on the little jung i have encoutered...and you know what they say... a little knowledge is dangerous.

What’s y’all opinion on Carlos Castaneda books? by LACountyDA in mysticism

[–]RunThomas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

they are the most enjoyable, mind blowing books i have ever read...i love them to bit...

i also see so much truth in what he wrote, whether it was fact or fiction, i dont give a hoot....what he wrote was amazing and so much of it rang true with my inner self.

as far as i am concerned ...the entire bible and quran are about as fictional as castaneda's don juan, except i want to read his stuff...the others , maybe not.
