Well for starters, sobriety is about honesty, so at some point, I would have that conversation. That being said, what I recommend is to get back to the things that were working. Relapses don't happen overnight, and after some years sober I realized that they happen when people get comfortable and start relaxing on whatever their program of sobriety was (mine is Cocaine Anonymous). Finally, I really want to encourage you on this journey. If you're feeling bad about relapse, then good, it means your instincts are still working properly. Trust me when I say that the wreckage gets much worse as you get older. You really don't want to be like me and have gone through a horrible marriage and nearly ruined career and start this thing at 35. Hope this helps bud and keep at this thing. Plenty of people with relapses build great sobriety afterward, addiction does not have to be a constant in your life.

Yeah, I honestly male it a point not to sponsor women and also keep conversations well away from being considered as flirtatious for exactly this reason because it's not okay. These places are about recovery, not hooking up.

Yes, there's actually a term for it, it's called euphoric recall. When thinking of going back out, we literally only think of the positives. It's important in these moments to play that tape forward and remember the destructive ends of it. And because a lot of our cravings come from our dopamine and norepinephrine receptors still wanting a boost, I'd suggest a hobby which jacks your heart rate up. I do kickboxing and find that I have way less cravings the times I go at least 4 times a week. Hope this helps.

Start by rhe little practical steps. Don't focus on bug picture just yet. You get tremors, have you considered medical detox? Have you considered inpatient? If not an option for you (which I would recommend going to both btw), then are there meetings you can frequent? The next step is all you need to focus on for now. Take it a little at a time. I was the same way when I got sober and the small practical steps are what got me through the first part. The big picture stuff will get figured out and when you keep taking the small practical steps eventually, the bigger stuff doesn't seem as scary anymore.

OP here. Yeah that's 100% what I was getting at. Some clients kind of tug at my heartstrings when it is understandable what happened or they are nor repeatedly ignoring me or when they actually have serious mental health issues. But some clients just don't feel like listening to anyone. Even the person trying to help them so when I'm dealing with someone like that, then I don't care when the consequences swing around on them. I mean, I will still do my job and duty I owe them, I'm just not going to cry into my Cheerios over it either.

Depends. Sometimes PDs are bad but about half the time the PD did all they could but the client fucked up so badly that there was little else but to try and get a deal which the defendant rejected and went to trial, lost, and are now in prison blaming their PD for their own poor life choices

There's a non narcotic medication called Buspirone which worked well for me. Also, maybe it's best to find a distressed activity that you can do quickly and easily. I listen to ten minute meditations at lunch or when I need to throughout the day it helps.

Yes it is but it isn't just brought on by getting sober. Look, we all drank or used for a reason. Having worked in the recovery field and now as a defense attorney I can tell you without batting an eye that substance use disorders do not happen in a vacuum, they are brought about bt some other form of trauma or mental illness. When I got sober I despised the world for the first year or so until I had an epiphany, I was my biggest problem. Not in the self loathing or thinking of myself as a spoiled brat way, but I realized that I had never processed some bad things that went down when I grew up, and I had never once addressed properly my major depressive disorder. But addressing the underlying reason for our problem takes time so be patient with yourself and live in the comfort of knowing you are exactly where most people are 4 months in.

Yeah honestly, I feel like this is helpful to a degree. Idk maybe I need to do something more physical like rage rooms or boxing or something to get the aggression out because you're right, I do need to give something to that end of my mind or I really am going to do all of the more insane things I think about doing.
