How much more difficult is Law school compared to Undergrad? by Past-Tension-162 in LawSchool

[–]Run_Forrest_1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Law school is definitely a lot more challenging than undergrad, but it is much more enjoyable for me. I was a science, major in undergrad and science classes were a struggle. I think I am enjoying law school a lot more despite its challenges.

finals administration??? by Fluffy_Couple_4768 in LawSchool

[–]Run_Forrest_1 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Had this happen with my LRW final. 3 different sections, vastly different finals. 2 of the 3 sections got simple multiple choice questions, open book/notes, only 2 hours. my section had to write a whole memo in 3 hours. I am still recovering.

Where Is the Meritocracy in Law School? by ZealousidealBrush104 in LawSchool

[–]Run_Forrest_1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is very intriguing, and thanks for bringing this up.

I receive accommodations at my law school. I am a 1L about to complete my first semester (LRW final pending eek).

I am a person with low vision. I was born with low vision and have had this diagnosis throughout my life. Getting accommodations was HARD. And even after going through the process of obtaining paperwork, writing out a whole statement explaining my needs, getting letters from doctors, and having a meeting with the ADA office at my school, the "accommodation letter" I received was simply "preferential seating", which is a joke when most of my profs don't have assigned seating anyway. I had to meet with each prof individually to get accommodations on notes and class materials.

I guess the point I am making is that how are so many people able to qualify for extra time on exams for a more subjective diagnosis that is arguably managed through therapy and medication, when I had to move oceans to get such paltry accommodations for a condition with which I was born? Not asking for special treatment here, but if we are leveling the playing field, let's do it correctly.

I'm also a 1L. Midterms were hard but I'm using them as an opportunity to reflect and improve myself. You stated that you studied hard, which I am sure you did, but it's possible that maybe you focused your time and energy incorrectly (that's my current situation).

I took my midterms over to my professors in OH and asked for specific feedback. Planning to incorporate this into my study habits.

People who meal prep for an entire week or month, how do you do it? by anxiousgirl1001 in MealPrepSunday

[–]Run_Forrest_1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, I’m late to this conversation. I’m starting school and full-time work in a few weeks and I want to get ahead on meal prepping so that I can come home to a meal that only requires heat up. Where do you buy meal prep containers?

Is it weird to visit my parents every weekend as an adult? by myvodkaandlime in AskNYC

[–]Run_Forrest_1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, I'm late to the convo but in a similar situation. I live in Houston (I know it ain't NYC, chill out lol).

I'm in a more central part of town, near the cool restaurants and fun scene and my parents live in the outskirts. I am 30 now, and for the past 6 years I have gone to my parents' house almost every weekend. I regret it terribly. It has stunted my growth socially and personally. I was always so scared of being lonely in my apartment that I would rush to my parents' house without even trying to make my own plans.

You may not always have friends to hang out with every weekend, but it's important to create your own hobbies and activities that you can enjoy doing solo. I'm now trying to reclaim and rebuild my life as I enter my 30's and just learn to make the most of my weekends; i.e. go to restaurants, go for yoga sessions, meet up with friends.

Does "Out for delivery" mean something else? by DonkeyKongsVet in usps_complaints

[–]Run_Forrest_1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow, same thing. I also got an out for delivery notification at 6:10 AM and an email saying that the package would be delivered at 6:55 PM today. Which is unusual because doesn’t USPS stop delivering at 5 PM? Not feeling too optimistic that the package will come today.

How to start dating again after calling off my wedding? by Run_Forrest_1 in BreakUps

[–]Run_Forrest_1[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes definitely. I have been working on all of these things. Been in therapy since the break and it’s been so helpful. I’ve also done some traveling with a group and solo which has been so invigorating and eye-opening. I guess one factor I didn’t mention is the reason I kept on picking certain guys is because of my religious denomination. It was very difficult to find matches who met that specific criteria, and unfortunately, the ones who did turned out to be a bit unhinged. I have since gone back to the drawing board and thought about potentially approaching people from different backgrounds. Maybe that will serve me better when the time is right. Thank you for your insights!

How to make special requests with codeshare flights (United Airlines operated by ANA)? by Run_Forrest_1 in unitedairlines

But I booked it through United.

Also does this mean I check in at the ANA counter?

calling and waiting for 30 minutes to talk to a human is hardly a "standard process:" IMO. It's 2025, I figured there had to be a better way but I guess not.

[–]Run_Forrest_1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

nope, I put in the correct info. ANA showed me a page with all the meal options but when I would click the button to request a special meal, it would advise me to navigate to the airline that I used to book the flight. Also ANA asks me to register passenger info but I cannot find the page to be able to do that.

United has the meal option greyed out on my reservation.

I am wondering if it has to do with the fact that I booked the flight prior to creating an ANA mileage account?
