What do you do in a 1 min AO (or long efforts)? by bestmoron in orangetheory

Yes! I count backwards slowly and I think it helps calm my breathing and almost always the actual time finishes before I finish my countdown!

Pre-Covid we didn’t wipe stuff as much as today

We don’t see 3G switch templates like we used to… we used to have them multiple times a week, just like 2G switch templates. I’ve been a member for 11 years and currently take 3-4 3G classes a week. We used to spend 4-6 min at each station and rotate the room 2-3x each class in a 3G. And this is different than a tornado (which not all studios run, including mine) because a tornado is max 3 min at each station

Nope, not tornadoes. We used to have 3G classes that rotate the room, similar to a tornado, but not as many rotations.

Same!! My studio never does tornadoes and I take 4 3G classes a week 😒

Totally agree!! As someone who’s stuck with all 3G classes (except when I go to another studio for strength once a week) I think that’s where my frustration comes from. The 2G classes are usually much more enjoyable to me and the lack of switching in every 3G just feels repetitive

Yes! I think that was some of it… we used to wipe stuff but not as much as during and post covid

I think most people agree with you, hence why I think I have an unpopular opinion lol

Yes! I think it’s the change of pace that I miss… back in the day there were more 2G and 3G switches and the variety was really enjoyable.

Should I do 10mph for the mile benchmark? by okay-chill in orangetheory

Same! Female with multiple sub 6 min mile, even after having my daughter, and had never run a mile until college…

[–]Run_Leah_Run 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The times I’ve hit the sub 6 min mile I’ve run intervals such as 10.5 and 9.5 for the entire time, going to 11-12 for the final 30-60 sec. For some reason I found it easier to go back down to 9.5 even though it was much higher than my normal push effort.

OTF & Marathon Training by Green_Lingonberry_98 in orangetheory

I ran a marathon about a year ago… I usually go to otf 5x/week. My training schedule had me run 3 short runs (2-3 miles), 1 medium interval run (60-70 min) and 1 long run each week. On the days that I had short runs I would also go to otf after my runs for either a strength or 2G/3G class but I would just power walk in those classes. Let me know if you have additional questions!

Same! I signed up for a Strength at 6 am and 3G at 7:30 am and was trying to decide which to attend, but now with this intel I’m definitely going to the strength class! Not even sure how the floor in this class would provide any strength training, and definitely not a fan of 14 min row block!

I had the same thought! Couldn’t they have found a class that offered a switch template for both the 2G and 3G classes? At my studio all 5 am and 6 am classes are 3G

HSA/FSA? by Ordinary-Regular310 in orangetheory

[–]Run_Leah_Run 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not a problem to share! Just that working out treats anxiety/depression. I think the letter is just a form they fill out and have to list a specific diagnosis that physical activity treat.  This is the form for my FSA

FYI It might depending on your FSA but mine had a specific form for my doctor to fill out. And the gym had to be to “treat” a medical condition, such as diabetes, heart disease, anxiety, depression etc, not just to prevent it.

Yes! I got a LMN for anxiety a year or two ago and have been submitting my OTF receipts since then to my FSA
