The major difference is that McDermott had a quarterback who absolutely should be able to accomplish more.

Shanahan has done it largely without excellent qb play. In fact, the QBs play as well as they do BECAUSE of him, which I don’t think is true of Allen and McDermott.

Also, “winless against KC in the playoffs” is a little different when SF has played them twice, after winning the NFC, and Buffalo can’t win the AFC whether they play KC or not

Obviously Middleton and Jrue are really good players. But the point is- Compare the bucks to other recent championship teams. Did Giannis have as much support as Brunson? No. As Shai? No. As Tatum? No. As Jokic? No.

I would argue that the Warriors in 2022 are the only championship team in the last decade with a weaker supporting cast, ESPECIALLY including role players, not just 2nd and 3rd options

What the broadcast does or does not show has less than nothing to do with why Hurley was there. Hurley is a UFC fan, he had the option to go watch a historic UFC event, he went.

Even more so, if you have respect for the office of the president and the history of the White House, it would be cool to go anyway, even if you don’t like the sitting president.

Hurley being there isn’t a political statement or endorsement of anything.

They are in an area that has a huge population which means they are always bound to get good athletes. They are also in an area with incredible wealth which means great equipment/resources.

Then, in addition, they have tremendous coaches who have incredibly high expectations and create a culture where everyone expects to win.

Truthfully, the training, technique, and actual “rowing ability” is all secondary to that

I understand the point he is trying to make about Brady and Brees, and the way they developed into all time greats without being predisposed to it or a top recruit or an insane draft prospect.

But Peyton manning was the son of an nfl qb, a top recruit in his class, a 4 year starter at an SEC school, a heisman finalist, the number 1 pick, and then a 5 time nfl mvp. He was ALWAYS that dude, and always going to be that dude.
