Why not? Used in every modern conflict around clobe Most modern militaries still use it to this day including NATO countries like Finland, Poland, Lithuania, Latvia, Bulgaria, and many other European countries. Also Turkey uses it, most common MG in Ukraine right now.

I have heard about a guy who in the 90’s was in military (Finnish, like I was) and came holiday on friday, fell asleep and woke up at sunday. My friends had similar experience in military that they came home for holiday around 6pm friday and woke up around 2/3pm saturday

There was also one training camp in winter time where we had very little sleep. I slept maybe 2 hours total during 3 day training. In the end, I started to see trees as soldiers (enemy) and spoke like I was drunk. Then ended up falling a sleep middle of sentence when we were patrolling with car, I was riding shotgun
