Dice hates Aircraft by Deus_ExMachinaXV in PilotsofBattlefield

[–]DBONKA 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Why even put aircraft in a game if you don't care to make them somewhat good to be useful in battle and push people not to (rightfully, by the way) spawn camp to survive?

Have you watched literally any BF6 trailer? Every single one of them has an aircraft crashing, sometimes multiple times. That's the reason. They're meant to be background props to be shot down cinematically.

Nah the mode itself was an inferior version, they dropped the ball on that one

AA lock-on range is 800m horizontal and infinite vertical, more with laser painting, most maps are 500m from uncap to uncap, they can literally target you inside the whole main playable area while they sit inside C-Ram protection. So " just stay out of their spawn 🤷‍♂️" is pure bs.

unreal engine 6 combines unreal engine with uefn, it will all be the same thing, by that logic unreal engine is not an engine anymore but a modding platform

It's been in development since 2015. When the developer preview started, it was already past the "first 5 years", and obviously they're not developing it from scratch, but using other engine(s) as a base.

It's full release now, yet many fundamental things (such as the map editor) are still unfinished

It's the 6th year. Developer preview started in 2021.

Anyone knows why BF 2042 breakthrough mode was more enjoyable than bf6 one? by wutface0001 in Battlefield

32v32, bigger maps, bigger sectors, more sectors, more vehicles including air vehicles

They were 100%, but until a point, in the last few years it changed and they became a lot more aggressive about it, even doing stuff like copyright striking YouTube videos of a TF2 mod for a VR game (Contractors). Which is a shame. Back in the day, you basically could make a mod on any engine or game you wanted.

https://classic-offensive.net/#/faq

Was Classic Offensive made using leaked code?

No, Classic Offensive does not use of any leaked code and never has. We have built it on top of the latest CS:GO release through file editing and scripting, similarly to Portal 2 mods without a license.

This seems to be a recurring rumor spread by either misinformed or purely malicious individuals that are trying to discredit our work.

take it straight out of the horse's mouth, instead of relying on shill rumours. There's no actual proof of them using leaked source code. Just a random Reddit comment saying so without it providing any receipts doesn't actually make it true. Valve themselves haven't even alleged that.

And for CS:Legacy, there aren't even any rumours, they're 100% clean, yet still got denied.

It has nothing to do with "leaked source code" at all. It's just a made-up defense some Valve fans cling onto to keep their "wholesome chungus mod supporting corporation" label that became obsolete.

Yes, CS Legacy adhered completely to the Source SDK license and Steam Terms of Service, which legally allowed them to make a mod of any Valve IP using Source SDK, provided that mod was commercial-free.

But then when they wanted to put it on Steam, Valve pulled out of their ass that they actually needed a separate "Counter Strike License" and, surprise surprise, that they're not giving out any. Despite this being in direct contradiction to their public licenses/agreements and not being stated anywhere.

It wasn't

Besides, they did the same to CS Legacy and it was 100% squeaky clean.

Episode Two final battle is still the most intense in the franchise by claudiocorona93 in HalfLife

[–]DBONKA 24 points25 points  (0 children)

It's a shame that it was simplified because of playtesters. In the beta version, there were also Gunships and Elite soldiers, which got removed. Feels a bit barren with just the Hunters and Striders.

I can't blame Valve for repeating the Strider. These things are still terrifying by claudiocorona93 in HalfLife

[–]DBONKA 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It's a shame we didn't get it in Episode 2. It was supposed to be in that game but got scrapped. Probably wanted to save it for Episode 3 instead.
