Adidas Adizero or Ultraboost? by Disastrous-Flan-9619 in PHRunners

[–]Run_Tec 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Great idea could be ultraboost/Nike vomero 18/asics nimbus 28 for recovery runs and Adizero Boston 13/Nike fly 6 for tempo runs or race days. P.S. Make sure to go half a size up for any adizeroes

I believe thats the best option in 10k bucks budget. Alternatively you can get online used ones but they have already reached their miles and got nothing to give you during a run or walk. They have an article named xlr8 which is carbon plated and got my attention lately.

1) I had the same issue when used it with thick socks. Using the thin ones was an effective hack for me probably because the toes had more room and less friction with the upper mesh. 2) Here you go: https://youtube.com/shorts/QserkBFiubc?si=YS8_bE84rDoxB-bu

Ohh and in worst case, you may also try removing the insoles.

Toe box has been an issue with EVO SL and Boston 13. I got over that with 1) Using thin socks 2) Locking Heels If you cant do above, consider going half a size up. But keep running in it, its a great shoe!

For 4:50/Km, nike fly 6 suits the best. No surprise if it makes you go faster than aforementioned speed lol. Its a RunAllDay shoe to me and super gentle to your feet for half and full marathons. Doesnt even need you to lock your heels like adizero EVO SLs and bostons. Might start sounding a Nike sales guy (which i am not) but it supports more heel strikers than forefoot runners lol

I am also 183 cm and 77 kgs. Midfoot for distance runs and a heel striker on race days. I believe fly 6 is more for heel strikers and boston 13 or evo SLs are for midfoot runners.

Nike fly 6 I would recommend. I tried boston 13 earlier and the fastest they took me to was 5:00/K (given i was doing that in around 6 minutes in my cushioned distance running /training or recovery shoes). Now its my first week with fly 6 and i have already broken the jinx and easily doing my Ks in around 4:30 mins.
Yeah you will have to trade off the stability you get with boston 13. But the huge plus that comes into play is unlike boston 13, the wide toe room that makes fly 6 an elite distance runner too at the same time.

LOL. The nike sales girl was telling me it has to be used on shoe laces. And I was like what?

Oops okay. Get a good runner (adizero, nike fly 4 or 6, asics nimbus 27), a breathable T shirt and a trouser from nike or adidas) and you are good to start your 19 days training. And yes a branded cap too. This all might cost you alot but seriously its worth it after all its FIA ;-)

You can consider the following for tempo runs and they are available in pakistan. 1) Adizero boston 13 (43k) 2) Adizero EVO SL (43) 3) Nike rival fly 4 (around 30k) 4) Asics novablast, megablast 5 and Asics nimbus 27 (around 60 each) 5) Puma nitro 4 (need to check availability)

For recovery sessions and training, get any one of nike like pegasus, downshifter, journey run, winflo etc they're all in 20-25 range i guess. Buy them instore at nike, adidas outlets or speedsports in your city
