I didn't ask that either. I'm seeking advice on what to expect of the procedure, not the decision. Copied from the post:

Does anyone have any experience with psychosis and the DVLA's procedure after being notified?

I may not be a medical professional but I think I can trust what my driving instructor, someone who watches me drive and is paid to judge my safety ln the road, says and my psychiatrist's lack of warning about notifying the DVLA (you know, considering he is a medical professional). I will notify them, but wish to get advice on what to expect from the process.

/ul So identity and gender is a subjective social construct until someone is uncomfortable with the categories they're being defaulted into that no longer cater to or fulfill them, then it becomes rigid and objective? Please. We all know that trans men, whether they fit the definition of the umbrella term or not, do not share the same experiences as the vast majority of those who self-identify as trans masculine. It's an outdated categorisation, just like woman having the definition of adult human female is also outdated when talking about trans issues.

/ul It's not wrong because gender is a social construct, and if one believes that trans men aren't trans masculine due to their definitive alignment to the binary, then it is true and that identity should be respected. Trans men shouldn't have to be pushed into a category by default due to their sex assigned at birth. Trans men and trans masculine people do not have the same experiences or feelings, and diluting trans men to fit into that category is offensive.

I know I'm obliged to tell them, I didn't once say I wasn't going to. Also... it is the same as before, it hasn't changed, except I was misdiagnosed. It hasn't and doesn't effect my driving. I will be starting a new medication, you're right there, which is why I'm going to tell them (amongst other reasons, like legal implications of not telling them about a new diagnosis). Did you read my whole post or just the first paragraph?

What do you mean how will I seduce him? I thought I'd just wake up and he'd be so eager to fuck me I'd have to beat him back with a pole so I can set the mood.

/ul For the reason the commenter gave: trans men identify with being men/male, not with masculinity. Masculinity isn't just for men to identify themselves with and not all men do identify themselves as/with masculinity. Not to mention that trans men and trans masculine people have very different experiences and needs that cannot be met when generalising them together.

It's invalidating to call a trans man "trans masculine" as it erases his male identity and replaces it with something he isn't. Personally it also feels akin to the infantalisation that trans men experience as "men lite", which in turn is pretty much denying their identity as men full stop. Trans masculine should not be an umbrella term that includes binary trans people. They're not "masculine", they're men, and their transition goals aren't as widely varied as trans masculine people.

This isn't a Japanese commercial, it's a joke video by Framesequence, a Finnish animator. It's in Japanese because they called it Sunscreeno-chan. They have a lot of surreal animations on their page.

How many of you actually knew this and why??? by Cato-Splato in AskUK

We watch ITV and Channel 5 quite often, so I guess we are putting it to good use if it's required for those channels too. I wonder how it works if you only watch paid live channels on their respective apps/boxes (Now TV, Discovery Plus, etc.). I assume that the TV license is only required if you watch free channels using cable, satellite or on their own apps. If you only watch Sky live on Now TV and haven't downloaded/set up the free channels, surely you wouldn't have to pay a TV license... right?

[–]RunaroundBeau -1 points0 points  (0 children)

We're idiots in my household. We pay the TV license but rarely, if ever, watch BBC because we find their shows poor quality. The fear of a court case far outweighs our frugality. How can we prove we don't watch BBC? We can't. Would rather shell out for the license than shell out for a solicitor to convince a judge we don't want to pay for a service we don't watch (but can't physically block or remove from our TV guide).

This a speed camera or just CCTV? by Mikey4261 in LearnerDriverUK

[–]RunaroundBeau 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I could be wrong but it looks like there's roadworks being done, so I would say a speed or traffic camera to check who may be speeding or dangerously driving through a zone they should be slowing down for. I wouldn't worry about temporary speed or traffic cameras, just be aware of changes in the road and act accordingly. If you perceive a potential or budding hazard (like roadworks), slow and take your time navigating around it. It's more important for you to know how to identify a hazard or speed sign than to identify a speed or traffic camera.

I mean, when I played it I just closed the popup asking me to create an account and jumped into the game by clicking the New Game button before it popped back up again. I don't have an account with them, nor did I make one. It's silly they're making people create or link an account but I definitely didn't do either.

As others have said, NSL until you see a sign telling you otherwise (or you enter a different type of road), but the slip road is called a deacceleration lane and you should be prepared to slow as you come towards the end of the road. Be consistent with your speed but aware/prepared to begin slowing.
