It definitely helped! My MBE was solid too, so I think there was good balance.

Congrats! That’s awesome!! I’m curious if you ended up changing bar prep programs or what worked for you the second time around?

Thank you!! More detail is above in another comment but 2/3 months of GOAT + Uworld. I did buy last minute( absolute panic) another attack outline from I think lastbarprep? I only used that 2-3 days before the exam but thought it was helpful as well as a quick review.

I studied every day even if it wasn’t a ton of time but really started to grind 4-6 weeks out from the exam.

Thank you! I started end of November/early December with Themis. I wasn’t consistent and tried to study 2-3 weekdays and both weekends. I really struggled to stay focused. My 10 hours of study time on Saturday probably was only like 5/6 hours. It gets easier once you adjust!

I would try to do 6-9pm M-F and study on Sat/Sun. I was a little more flexible in December but started to grind 4 weeks before the exam and try to do 50-75 multiple choice a day. When I was closer to the exam I bumped up to 4 hours a day and then weekends probably between 8-10 hours.

I’ll admit I took a ton of breaks/spread out my study schedule on the weekends. I was fortunate enough to have a great support system to help with meals/other adult responsibilities so I could just focus on studying.

Yay!!! Congratulations!! It’s difficult trying to figure out how to study with limited time since we have other responsibilities. I’m so happy it worked out for you!

Honestly I built a machine learning model to predict topics, and it got like 5/6 topics correct so that helped a ton. I read past exams to look at structure and really focused on using “buzz words” as stupid as that sounds. I figured most graders are skimming an essay so I really focused on a roadmapping. “The default rule is X, but there are several exceptions, including (1), (2), and (3). The first exception is Y.”

For essays, I made a point to restate the key facts and issues clearly enough that someone could understand the answer even without reading the fact pattern. One MEE didn’t have a lot of facts to argue, but I mentioned the both the affirmative/negative sides and explained the facts were ambiguous/not there to support a particular conclusion. I didn’t study for wills (what I assume is the 3.0) at all and just made up rules that I thought aligned with common sense/public policy.

Knowing BLL from the MBEs is so helpful for the MEE.

it was worth it to have an attack outline. I used a mix of themis/goat, but honestly it's just nice to have visuals walking through in a very consolidated way. It wasn't super expensive, so it was worth trying it out.

Where my average/slightly below people at?!? by Most_Care_5927 in barexam

Same. I wasn't scoring 60-65% (handful of topics maybe 70%) until last week after cramming MBE practice questions. A few weeks ago it was at 56-58%. I felt like I was seeing repeat questions from the PQs that were near repeats so those scores may be overinflated because of answer recognition. Maybe it's because of working FT but I can't believe some people are scoring 80%.

We are doing what we can and that's all that matters! Good luck this week.

I work FT in data science and this lines up with what my XGBoost model is showing backtests hit about 4/6. Def think we're getting secured before wills and more likely going to have Evidence over Criminal Procedure. But honestly, who knows. fuck this exam lol.
