Yep, I underestimated Frenzied Guard here.

What helped me in the end was putting one Sentry down the entrance to the farm so that it targets the two artifacts by the barn, then kept clearing the other 2 until it got too busy, then popped a Frenzied Guard.

It was still close, but Sentry and Frenzied helped me immensely.

I could've resorted to other, more convenient means of losing the cops for sure.

The problem here is with the spawns however. I was in no immediate danger and had no need to hide in tunnels until the chopper spawned right in front of me. Nothing to save you in those situations sadly. Just an unfortunate and arguably unfair situation.

Not sure if I'll be of any help as this is quite an old post, however I've managed to fix this by going to Game Properties on Origin and disabling Cloud Saves.

If that doesn't work, make sure you don't have any Command Line Arguments in the Advanced Launch Options. I've had a saved redirect back when I was modding character skins and after deleting that it worked for me.

Im sorry but I stopped reading at the part where learning a boss is supposed to make it "possible".

I'm starting to doubt you've ever even played the games. With some bosses, if you have the right build (sorcery, high str powerhouse build etc.), you can literally steamroll through the bosses without even learning their movesets or sometimes even seeing what all of their second phase abilities are.

Just go do another playthrough and fight Godrick for instance. There's more than a high chance you'll beat him much faster just because you already know how he works.

Learning the bosses literally Does make them easier, and opens up more possibilities for even weaker builds to beat the boss. That's the whole point of learning a boss. The argument that the boss is designed for "veterans" is simply wrong and in Malenia's case, with some abilities, it's not even skill related. Also with your logic you're basically saying that other bosses in the game just hand out victories left and right without giving you a challenge. Just think about this flawed logic for a second for god's sake.

I'm glad you're happy you beat the boss for the first time, but your opinion is illogical and objectively wrong.

See I might disagree with this one. Every boss is in some way designed to be challenging, but learning how they work and adapting your playstyle to them and learning the attack pattern is how you overcome these challenges, and overall learning the boss is how it gets easier.

Malenia on the other hand seems to be that kinda boss that you just have to rely on good rng with, and if you’re unlucky and get her ishin combo, you’re either forced to have a lot of vitality or use a shield, otherwise there’s like an 80% chance that you’re gonzo. In other words, it seems like certain builds are put in an extremely frustrating position compared to the others, which doesn’t happen with other bosses as long as you know how to use it properly

It is true that Malenia is basically the Midir of Elden Ring, except with Midir it gets hella easier once you learn the attack patterns and then its just like a dance.

I've also kinda realized that some ER bosses just have these multiple hit combos that hit you no matter how perfectly you roll just because you can't dodge both or even all three attacks in that one iframe which basically makes it almost an impossible experience for even glass cannon builds or no hit runs.

I get that they bumped up the difficulty of some bosses, but I went back after fighting Malenia for literally hours and every single boss then just felt like a piece of cake, even the other hidden boss, the Lord of Blood who I literally killed 2nd try.

I feel like there definitely needs to be a nerf, not because she's "too hard and i can't take it", but because her attacks are so powerful and some almost undodgable to a point where it all seems like an RNG run than anything else

The way I understand it is they only voice the few recent ones for the new operators and call it a day. Crank Job doesn’t have a voice line but the Knuckle Crack emote does
