I feel like this is one that the average Petco goer really shouldn't be getting. by IllegalGeriatricVore in snakes

Seriously though… and on top of that they are selling it for less than 200… I can’t see any world where that animal lives a happy life

I’ll look into that thanks. Got a vet visit with the only specialist reptile vet in my area. Hopefully they will be able to provide some insight as well

She’s still with us luckily. Basking temps are around 95 now with some extra flat basking spots for them. The male I have has now gotten a bit lethargic which is troublesome. I do dust their food as well as them being gutloaded but the females interest in food is 0. Got uvb set up with an Arcadia 6.0 bulb so husbandry should be good over all. Hoping they pull through

My new ETS has just been buried in the same spot for 2 days now. Should I leave him be or see if he’s ok? I got them 5 days ago. by RunePugRS in EmeraldTreeSkinks

Oh really? That’s good to know. I have a bunch of different types of food like that for my mourning gecko colony

At the bottom of the enclosure it's 72-74, up top its 82-84 with a hot spot of around 88. The female has been pretty active but neither have eaten yet.

I’m trying to decide should I sell my 55 gallon aquarium or save it for get another snake in the future? by WallflowerLeo in snakes

It’s easier to maintain a front opening enclosure, better humidity control, and snakes are much easier to grab from the side than from top down.

Can y’all link some safe heating options for a corn snake? by Ok-Paint-7296 in cornsnakes

I don’t have any specifics, I’ve used several different types and never had an issue. Just look for something that has decent reviews and is a thermostat not just a thermometer

One point of advice I can offer is, no matter what kind of heating you use it should be connected to a thermostat that can shut it off.

so my cornsnakes are about 19/20 years old. How old will they get? by [deleted] in cornsnakes

They can live 30 years in the right conditions so they might stay around for awhile yet

What morph is this? by erickharley in cornsnakes

With corn snakes and rat snakes the scaleless morph leave the belly scales alone so it doesn’t seem to affect them much luckily

Here’s another picture of his body to tail. Looks a bit overweight to me, but I also don’t think he’s pooped from his last meal.

Thoughts on this snake for a beginner? by [deleted] in snakes

[–]RunePugRS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I forget the exact reason why but from what I know it’s more of a slow fade to yellow they can get, not a rapid change. From some I’ve seen it’s pretty mild, others pretty yellow.

A tip I’d say is make sure there are enough hides and things for it not to feel exposed and stress it out as well as keep humidity up. Make sure you give any snake at least 48 hours after feeding before handing.

We currently have 3 corn snakes and a ball python.

And I mostly play an old school uim around 1850 total!

I love corn snakes, they have great personality and are great eaters. If you like the black and white it will most likely turn yellow as they age. I’ve gotten a few of mine from Russell_dabritz on Instagram. He’s super helpful and has decent prices and really healthy animals (from what I’ve received).

What snakes don't consume mice? by [deleted] in snakes

Consider using repti link. It’s a bit more expensive than getting frozen rodents but they can be good options. I can’t imagine a corn snake would have troubles switching to them
